Sophia - Managerial Accounting and Lifespan
#31
A possible silver lining, maybe: If TESU views these as separate courses, in principle a student could complete Lifespan Development from Sophia for 3 credits of PSY-1999 and an approved course, such as Psychology 107: Life Span Developmental Psychology from study.com, from elsewhere for 3 credits of PSY-2110 Developmental Psychology, for 6 credits total.

Interesting, what degree are you going for? I wonder if there are changes... TESU rejected the PSY-1999 from the Social Science General Education requirement area? This is for the field under C. Knowledge of Human Cultures correct? Weird, their webpage shows PSY classes should be able to hit that field, generally it doesn't matter what the numbering is, it's a general education elective, not a specific requirement for the AOS. https://www.tesu.edu/academics/courses/j...-and-after
Study.com Offer https://bit.ly/3ObjnoU
In Progress: UMPI BAS & MAOL | TESU BA Biology & Computer Science

No, specifically for the BA Psych, so it didn't fulfill my PSY-2110 degree requirement. It ended up as an AOS elective, which is not the worst thing in the entire world, but means I need to take a basically identical dev psych class somewhere else for the credit. It'd presumably fill any nonspecific social science spot somewhere else, but given the course's serious and constant errors, would be a poor choice for something like that -- I only sat through it for the shot at an AOS core class.

Also, maybe Business Ethics will meet the social science requirement as well?

Frustratingly, it turned out to be PSY-1999, and appeal was rejected. So...don't do Lifespan Development.

"The Sophia course, Lifespan Development, will transfer as PSY-1999, Special Topics in Psychology, until 9/30/26. It will apply to the Social Sciences section in general education."
I'm assuming the quoted part is from TESU advising.

Yes, but it won't fill the actual Developmental Psychology degree requirement for the BA in Psychology, which is closer to what it's advertised as (Sophia Intro Psych itself would suffice for PSY-1999).

I want to emphasize just how bad a lot of the course content is. Saylor Intro Psych (which is identical to Lifespan Development at a couple points, because they use some of the same textbooks) is significantly more accurate and has on-average more competent question construction, and Saylor has a deserved reputation for errors and bizarre questions.
