Delta Air Lines to Charge Unvaccinated Employees $200 a Month (gizmodo.com)

Kids are now catching COVID and dying with it or becoming permanently disabled because the Biden administration didn't get vaccines ready in time for kids going back to school.  Kids represent around 20% of all COVID cases now.

I think this is an oversimplification of the situation.  Most people who are "vaccine-hesitant" cite the excuse "It was developed too fast" as one of their reason for not getting the shot.  But you're saying it was not developed fast enough?  And blaming Biden for this?  I'm sorry but you've lost me with this argument.

This vaccine was "developed" in one week.  It was the clinical trial testing phase, government bureaucracy, and production that took most of the time.

Parents aren't too happy sending their kids to school knowing that they are at risk of catching COVID without any sort of protection.

Biden is going to have more blood on his hands as kids keep dying from COVID as they wait for vaccine approval for kids that should have been done in late May.

I'm a parent, we specifically moved to a state that did not require vaccines for kids, and so did others I know.  There are MANY parents who will not be giving their kids this vaccine; it's one thing to take it yourself, it's entirely another to give it to your kids.

If I could of gotten my kids into a trial, I would have. The sooner they are protected, the better. We know the vaccine is safe at this point, it's dosage effectiveness we're still figuring out for kids.

We don't, actually.  Sometimes it takes more time for adverse reactions to be compiled and published.

From many people I know who have gotten the vaccine, numerous have gotten sick with covid afterward, some VERY sick; some have had VERY adverse reactions (like, terrible); and my dad now has a heart problem that he never had before, they're just now starting to try to figure out what went wrong, and when (only in last several months AFTER he got the vaccine). This is just my personal anecdotal info, but so far, way more people I know have had problems with the vaccine (at least a dozen), and only 2 have had issues with Covid (pre-vaccine).

One of my friends now has 2 serious heart issues due to her first vaccine. She can't get the second dose. Her doctor is afraid it will kill her. She didn't have any issues until about 3 weeks after the shot. Then the side effects starting hammering her every few days. She had ZERO heart issues before the vaccine. Now she has 2 and medication isn't helping her. She's at her cardiologist weekly right now. Her health isn't improving but slowly going down hill still and it's been several months. Somehow she's still more afraid of getting Covid than the second dose which makes no sense to me.

My issue with people who invoke heart issues (the most common of which seems to be myocarditis) is that there have been FAR more incidence of heart-related issues reported in people who were infected with Covid than in those who were vaccinated from it. There are people who die from literally every medicine. But more people benefit from those medicines.

This disease is out of the bag. Most public health experts think it likely will become endemic like the flu. It is here to stay. This was likely the case before we started getting variants. Doubly so now with variants.

So, what does that mean? It means that, particularly given the variants, you (and your kids) are going to a) get Covid, b) get the vaccine, or c)both. You are not going to be able to avoid this disease. If you are a person who will not vaccinate your kids, I certainly hope you have taken them out of school (or at least plan to) and do not allow them out of the house without a mask. To do otherwise is totally irresponsible.

The evidence seems to pretty clearly indicate that you are MUCH more likely to have serious complications from the disease than the vaccine. Is the vaccine 100% safe (meaning no side effects)? Nope. Not at all. People will get sick from the vaccine. People will die from the vaccine. But, more will get sick and die from the disease, they will do so at a much greater rate.

I will get my kids vaccinated at the first available opportunity because I think the evidence is very clear that if they are vaccinated they will be less likely to get sick, less likely to be hospitalized if they get sick, and less likely to die if they get sick. Those are facts.

Don’t get me wrong, if one of my kids dies from the Covid vaccine, I will hate myself for a long time for giving them the vaccine. But, I hope, in time I will understand that I still did the right thing, that I did the thing that was best for society.

Quote:“In 1736 I lost one of my sons, a fine boy of four years old, by the smallpox taken in the common way. I long regretted bitterly and still regret that I had not given it to him by inoculation. This I mention for the sake of the parents who omit that operation, on the supposition that they should never forgive themselves if a child died under it; my example showing that the regret may be the same either way, and that, therefore, the safer should be chosen.”

I live in Texas. I suppose it hasn't been nearly as bad here as it has been in most other parts of the country, or so it seems.

I did have to leave one job because of their insistence I wear a mask. No big deal, it wasn't too hard to replace that income.

We (my family) are not mask-wearers. We've not taken the jabs. We HAVE changed how and where we spend our money over these last 18 months. A lot of places are permanently out, but most of that has been because they went woke, not because of Covid-1984 policies.

We hope to do some international travel next spring, but it looks like some places might not make the list. We haven't ever submitted to Sars-cov-2 testing, but I think we would work on getting paperwork if it was a deal-breaker.
