Shmoop proctoring

If you get an over all percentage score of 85 on all the unit tests you can bomb the final.

Still have to pay $23 for a final you want to bomb.

I wonder if there will be any TESU news before this offer expires. With enough days to spare, since the course material needs to be read and the quizzes taken.

Personally, I would still wait before taking any of their coursework, even with it being proctored, until we know if TESU will accept the credits. Otherwise, it could still be a waste of time and money.

I'm betting the pass rate is going to drop a lot, and speed is going to decrease too.

Their courses are sub-par in every respect. The only redeeming factor was cost. There are too many other course providers who offer quality material for (possibly) a similar price (depending on speed and how you work the math). I have never been a fan of shmoop for a lot of reason, not the least of which is their customer service which is terribly sloppy, so my personal opinion is I would steer clear of them.

So the structure is the same as before? All the units are weighed equally? of does the final have more weight now?

I don't know if they changed it but the chapter tests were worth 60 points and the finals 150. The more unit tests the class had, the less weight the final carried.
Say a course had 4 unit tests and the final, total possible points would be 390 points.
It would take 273/390 to get 70%. If you got 100% on the 4 unit tests you would have 240. That leaves 33 points(11 of the 50 questions) you have to get on the final.
On the other side, if a course had 10 unit tests and the final, then the total possible points would be 750. That takes 525/750 to get the 70%. You could have a zero on the final and still get the 70% if you got a 90% on each unit.

$23 seems steep. I don't remember paying that much for proctoring through any of the other options (unless I wanted to pay extra for not needing to schedule it). Is my memory just screwy?

Saylor is $25 and that's pretty standard for ProctorU. But RPNow has alwayw been cheaper as long as I've known about them.

I like RPnow better. No need to schedule. No one takes control of my PC. Shorter set up time as well.
RPNow being cheaper just means it's better on every front in my book.
