Color me unsurprised. However, there must be more to it than that. TESU wouldn't have suspended them just because one student might have cheated. They would have just come down on the student. They must have been unhappy with Shmoop's response to their inquiry or with their policies (proctoring) or saw a bigger pattern of quick credits. They won't be reinstated without changes, I bet.

I would assume there must be more than one student, or enough students to suggest a pattern since one student could possibly be explained as someone who was just well versed in the material beforehand.

I think it could possibly 1 student who passed so many tests that it wasn't humanly possible for 1 person to do that many credits in that amount of time. If you could show that it takes minimum of 1 hour to open a course and take all of the quizzes/tests for it, and that someone did this for say 30 courses in 1 day, then they couldn't possibly have finished that many courses in a single day - it's not logistically possible, even if they knew the material, and didn't take a break to eat, pee, or sleep. It would have had to take at least 1 other person to get through that number of courses, meaning that the person cheated.
It could be multiple people who did something like this, I wouldn't be surprised if it was that too.
But there has to be a bare minimum amount of time needed to pass a course, so there's a maximum number of credits you can get in a 24-hour period.

It's easy to get a lot of online courses completed quickly. There are websites where you can hire someone to take your online courses for a fee. That's why I prefer CLEP. The security and proctoring for CLEP makes CLEP credits more credible.
63 CLEP Sociology
75 CLEP U.S. History II
63 CLEP College Algebra
70 CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature
68 DSST Technical Writing

It shouldn't mess anything up. ultimately. Shmoop may just have to add proctoring.
