Shmoop isn't especially easy. I have good general knowledge. There are 2 things to remember. The pass mark is 70% and you have 2 tries at each exam. I took all the exams cold. Then I redid them one at a time, fully reading and understanding the writings in each lesson before doing the exam. When I hit 70% average, I was done.
I have twin 13 yo boys going through this process so it's not the worth the time and potential waste of money if they don't transfer.

You won't risk the price of a movie for two or a professional sports ticket for 10 university courses? A month of Shmoop is a half hour of billing for me. Mind you 13 years olds won't have the knowledge to plow through these courses. I took the courses for the heck of it and will likely never transfer them anywhere. I have talked many family and friends into taking courses and they have had mixed results. I suspect the comment from COSC was from the last person hired who may have no special knowledge of COSC policy.

It would take us at least one month/course x 2 kids = $160 for potentially nothing. They can't even apply for 3 years.
Besides, we don't need Shmoop at all. I have everything planned for Study and Sophia

I think there should be a sticky thread warning about Shmoop credits.
They were known for a history of awarding credits for unproctored examinations. It is sad that they will be blackmarked like this regardless if they have already improved their proctored exam. Which they immediately corrected last year, they currently use ProctorU.
Given that TESU have indefinitely suspended accepting Shmoop credits eversince last year. EC and COSC have followed the trend just recently.
Everyone should be aware of the risk involved.

I actually agree with this...
Even when current advice by COSC about Shmoop credits is ambiguous, everything indicates that these credits are going to be a problems in the near future...

Ah, that must be new, I hadn't seen it as an option previously. I don't have a timeline,but it's been there since early this year.
