Hold up…. So now I am curious…. theoretically, if someone has a degree already… could they pop in for let’s say the project management BLS and have the GEC and electives all transfer in???? Cuz something like that would be pretty sweet. Then I would be like… please take my money.

You still need to complete 30 credits minimum at UMPI including the UL reqs. The minor is a BLS is only 18 credits so you still need at least 12 more and you have to meet that UL req.

Be aware, if you earned your first degree from a different school, its likely the GECs will be different.
I had a first BA, plus many additional community college credits, when I went to UMPI for a second BA, but still had to complete about 5 courses of GECs, as their GECs were different.

How does it work with the minors? Can you I them for any of their degrees or just the BLS/BAS?

Each school has their own general education requirements, the majority of the courses would be similar but some schools have a language requirement or a lab science requirement. If I had to hazard a guess - my guess is that Pelican may have had a BA in a subject that did not require a language, a lab science, and an equivalent to the HUM103 course. FastTrackDegree Wrote:How does it work with the minors? Can you I them for any of their degrees or just the BLS/BAS? For YourPace, you can add a minor to each and every one of their degrees listed on the webpage. So, that would be the BA, BABA, and the BLS. The minors are for the BLS and the concentrations are for the BABA. If you want to add a minor or concentration you have to speak to the Director of YourPace. She handles adding these. From my understanding you can add minors to the BLS but I couldn't add concentrations. If you're doing the BA in English I do not believe you can add a concentration because they're all business programs and you haven't completed the business core. You may be able to add a minor such as the Educational Studies minor but not the business ones. Again this was my understanding last year when I added minors to my BLS. They may have changed the policies since they. They've made a TON of changes this year. (07-28-2021, 11:25 PM)dfrecore Wrote: You can just get 2 minors. PM and then Management or MIS or Accounting. You have to complete the BLS for this though. You can't just come in and take a minor. Well I guess you could and just leave the school but you won't get a certificate or diploma for it. |
