Hello,
So unfortunately I was told that my English Comp 1 and 2, which I took at a Community College years ago, would not transfer to UMPI because they show as 2.67 credit hours on my transcripts (something about trimesters vs semesters).
They also would not accept my military transcripts for 6 credit hours in Technical Writing.
So in my quest to get down to only 10 classes needed I am taking English Comp 2 at Study.com.
My question is, will that fill both of the GEC requirements for writing?

@BigJohn1975, how far are you from a local college testing site for CLEP exams? You can get the CLEP done and it'll be FREE, easy, fast using Modern States and just a little bit of study. Not only that, UMPI takes the one exam for both English Comp I & II.

For what it's worth, the UMPI class is going to be way easier and faster than the UMPI class. Are you trying to speed run UMPI in a single session? Doing English Comp at SDC doesn't make much sense otherwise, IMO.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Yes, I am trying to get down to 10 classes and to BLAST through them in 1 session.
SDC seems pretty easy, in 1 day I did all the quizzes and I submitted my 3 papers. I'm going to take the Final now (day 2).
So does anyone know if SDC English Comp 2 will count towards UMPI Eng Comp 101 & 121?

Since you've decided to continue on with Study.com... If you're going for Study.com English Comp I & II, have you checked their equivalency? Did you also check UMPI transfer database?

I just took Eng 101, Eng 121, and Eng 211 at UMPI and all 3 were pretty easy. I was panicking about taking them beforehand, but they weren't at all as bad as I thought.
Completed:
UMPI: BA Criminal Justice
Pierpont: AAS BOG w/ Emphasis in Information Systems
Sophia: 24 Courses - The CSM Course - ASU: CIS 194 Business Technology Fundamentals
Coursera: Google IT, Google Data Analytics, Google Digital Marketing, IBM Cybersecurity Analyst

Yes, it really depends on the student, many options exist, the CLEP/MS option if you're close to a test center (or if you want to take it online), Study.com since you're already taking the courses there, or complete them at UMPI towards the 10 required courses. You may be able to transfer other courses to max the transfers...

Who told you that they won't transfer to UMPI? That's just not true! They may not transfer as Eng Comp 1/2 because of the work those courses focused on at your college. It' snot about the number of credits. I transferred a 1 credit ethics course in and it counted in several areas of the GEC.
I wouldn't take Eng Comp 2 outside of UMPI. It's 1 paper at UMPI and that's not the case anywhere else. Post your degree evaluation and we'll help you.

Please plan for 2 sessions. While finishing in 1, would be awesome. With the move to Brightspace, there's a lot that's changing and we don't know how different the courses will be yet. We know the exams are gone so the Final Assessments will be some sort of written assignment now.
No, Study's English 105 College Comp 2 only transfers in for ENG121 at UMPI. Study's UMPI page shows you how courses transfer:

Since you did English Comp II in 2 days, I'd probably just go ahead and take English Comp 1 as well.

Unfortunately, this was my 5th class this month at SDC, so I'd have to pay another month if I wanted to take Eng Comp 1 with them.
Guess I'll just end up doing Eng Comp 1 at UMPI.
