Running out of time- Need ANY Bachelors
#11
(10-22-2023, 06:01 PM)bjcheung77 Wrote: @RunningOutOfTime, wow, awesome credits... you have a couple of options, maybe even add TAMUC/WGU.
Option 1: TESU BSBA GM, Apply for graduation before January 1, 2024 and graduate March, 2024.
You have the upper level for BSBA GM, you need the cornerstone/capstone and the rest through ACE/NCCRS
You can pay the residency waiver fee and be done with it... since you don't have a budget and want it ASAP

Option 2: UMPI BABA M&L, Apply now, finish May and apply for graduation, should grad in June! 10 classes through UMPI.
You will need to do two sessions, this may work for you as you finish in May and can probably grad end of May or beginning if June.
It may be riskier but this is a cheaper, easier, faster option once you get started.  It depends on you...
You may want to revisit the WIKI for both TESU and UMPI to see which concentrations you're interested in.

Thank you for the breakdown- is the risk aligned with Option 2 soley due to the grad date being possible in June?

Yes, the only risk for UMPI is ability to complete, as you missed the Fall 2 sessions, you'll start at earlier in Spring 1 which is January... and Yes! UMPI Management & Leadership is the one...

Makes sense thank you! So if I only needed 2 sessions the latest would be end of June?

Yes, most likely June graduation is your earliest possibility for UMPI. Unless of course, you complete all 10 of those courses in 1 sessions by spending all your days only on the course work required. If you have commitments, that won't be possible without extreme time management and absolutely no work, etc.

For UMPI, it is definitely possible to finish in one session. I think more people have been able to do UMPI in 2 months as opposed to WGU in 6. It's a lot of work to do the UMPI degree in one session, but it's doable if your wife is able to do your household chores for 2 months. Not everyone can do that. 40+ hours/week should make this doable, though!

TESU, though, you're definitely not going to make it. You would have to apply to TESU and enroll in both the capstone course and cornerstone course by November 1st. https://www.tesu.edu/current-students/gr...nformation Otherwise, the next graduation date is in June. You've got 98 credits, TESU requires 100 before enrolling in the capstone. I can pretty much guarantee that there is not sufficient time to get your transcripts sent to TESU, for them to evaluate them, for you to get the waiver for not having at least 100 credits, and to enroll in the capstone/cornerstone courses. I just don't see it happening. TESU might be easier in theory, but you're going to wind up with a June graduation date.

Your best bet is going to be either WGU or UMPI and I'm 90% sure that UMPI is more likely.

So you've got about a month and a half to fill out UMPI's GEC requirements and make sure you have no more than 10 or 11 UMPI classes to take.. You're almost there, I think.

GEC
1A - English Comp I - Done
1B - English Comp II - Done
1C - I don't think you have this covered - Business Communication @ Sophia (Business Communication also covers a BABA degree requirement)
1D - English Comp I - Duplicate, done
2A - Ethics - Should be covered by existing ethics classes, but can complete Intro to Ethics @ Sophia to be safe.
2B - Introduction to Sociology - Done
2C - English Comp II - Duplicate, done
2D - Visual Communication @ Sophia
2E - ART-1100 - Done
3A - Yours isn't accepted @ UMPI, take Algebra @ Sophia
3B - Algebra - Duplicate, will be done
3C - Environmental Biology - Done
3D - I don't see any other science in your list; need a physical science here. Do Envrionmental Science @ Sophia
3E - Looks like your Environmental Biology class had a lab, so this one is done
4A - Non-credit YourPace orientation class. Takes just an hour or two, cannot be transferred in.
4B - English Comp II - Duplicate, done
4C - Ethics - Duplicate of above, will be completed with 2A
5A - GEOGR-1100 or Intro to Sociology - Done
5B - History - Done
5C - Foreign Language - Spanish or French @ Sophia
5D - Ethics again, another duplicate
5E - US Government @ Sophia

I don't see ECON 101 in the transfer database, so you might want to also take Micro&Macro econ at Sophia to be safe.

I don't see any transfers in the database for the College of DuPage. DePaul University is listed, but I don't see any of your classes listed. For Roosevelt University, the only transfer I see in the database is Algebra (which is listed as not being accepted). It doesn't mean that nothing else is accepted, it's just that nobody else has transferred in those specific classes and we don't have equivalencies. So educated guesses have to be made.

Use https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan and set up a spreadsheet that shows what's needed and match it up to what you already have. For instance, we can be pretty sure that BUSN-1100 at DuPage and BUS-101 at UMPI are going to be the same. And your Business Ethics class should cover the UMPI Business Ethics requirement. But you'll still have some holes that need to be filled with Study.com.

With the College Accelerator plan, Study.com limits students to 2 exams included in the subscription + 3 additional exams per billing month. This means you have up to 15 SDC classes available before January. That's more than sufficient. I would suggest trying Saylor's Management Information Systems first, before attempting the SDC class because it's only $5 and you just might be able to pass without even reading the Saylor course materials. https://learn.saylor.org/course/view.php?id=41

Between cramming in all these Sophia, Study.com, and SDC classes, you're going to be in for a rough 4-6 months. But I think you've got enough motivation to make it work.

Thank you for such a detailed breakdown! I have applied for UMPI_BABA_Management and requested my transcripts from the 3 previous colleges to be sent.  Call with counselor is today also.

What counselor? If it's an "enrollment specialist", listen to nothing they have to say. They are paid 3rd party salespeople. Nothing against them as people, but UMPI really should stop hiring them. They're pretty bad about giving incorrect information and they'll continue to call you even after you have your diploma in hand. Ouch.

@RunningOutOfTime, it doesn't matter that you have 98 credits now as you have UL for the TESU degree. It really depends on how you slice things. You can finish 10 LL courses at Sophia.org in 10 days, yes, do the ones that don't duplicate and also go towards the UMPI degree, you can decide then which would be easier. You can do the cornerstone/capstone at TESU in one November term, then finish any outstanding requirements after, you have buffer time right after the two courses are complete to get the remainder done... My calculations are always precise before I do any type of recommendation...
