They will typically change you over to the BAS if you explain you are in the process of conferral of a AAS

do I have to wait for the graduation date in December to do this?

Also how has the BAS worked out for you in terms of opportunities?

Honestly, I haven't seen any other benefits. My seeking of the BAS was just a side quest at this point. I would imagine you could position yourself pretty well for a PM position at a company afterwards, depending on your interests, with the collection of minors.
