You all kept asking. It's finally here. UMPI is now adding proctoring to all exam-based courses. Just a heads up.
Edit for clarification: With the move to Brightspace, there's very likely to be NO exams and everything will be essay.

Oh wow, seriously? Where did they announce proctored exams? Was kind of hoping they wouldn't add proctoring. I'm already a nervous test taker, don't need some random proctor hounding me on my set up and being all nit-picky as read in WGU's reddit thread about nightmarish proctors and exams.

I have done a bunch of exams proctored in multiple programs. It really isn't bad and you forget about it. They don't harass you unless you do something obvious. For some degree paths its sort of necessary.
Its definitely weird at first with the webcam and all but its just there to keep some integrity.
In person is still far worse. That feeling when you are on question 50 out of 100 and people are done and getting up is awful…

Cue/Queue the 'JAWS' theme music... Hmm, It's coming, but what about the mention on a few posts/threads back that when they've moving to BrightSpace, they've gotten rid of the exams and it's all assessments and assignments.

That's interesting because just this week Jessica has told several currently enrolled students that there will no be exams. She even said Financial Management is moving to problems for the Final Assessment.

I think the confusion here comes from the Brightspace intro course you can take right now. In the course it states that Brightspace uses "Respondus" for proctoring exams/tests, but that only applies if they're doing exams/tests and not going strictly assessments and assignments. I've seen this shared around on Discord and the Sophia-UMPI facebook group also, but again I think it's just the confusion from the Brightspace intro course.

When I was doing CLEP exams, we had our own private rooms.
I liked my in-person experience far more than doing it online though it was more convenient to do online.
As far as online proctoring, things can go wrong sometimes.
- The browser can crash, or slow to a crawl if you don't open/close the browser right before the exam.
- My cam had some loose wire or something where it would DC as I was trying to show my room.
- My net seems to have a 50/50 chance of having problems at the exact time I need to take my exam. Lol.
- One time TESU's website crashed at the exact time I was trying to take my exam.
- These proctors sometimes have problems as well.

I believe at this time there are less than 3 exam courses still available. They're very minimal.

BABA and there are more than 3 exams in that program.
