New to InstantCert - Need Your Opinions on Prep & Study Time
#1
I've just signed up for InstantCert - I have approx. 15 exams (combination of DSSTs and CLEPs) standing between me and my degree. I work full-time, and I'm wondering if any of you out there can give me advice on generally how much time should be given to prepare for each exam using InstantCert? I'm planning on taking the following exams:

DSSTS:
Foundations of Education
Civil War & Reconstruction
Developmental Psychology
Contemporary Western Europe
A History of the Vietnam War
Organizational Behavior
Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union
Human Resources Management
Substance Abuse: Fundamental Facts
Ethics in America
Physical Geology
Environmental Sci: The Race to Save the Planet

CLEPs:
American Government
Intro to Educational Psychology
Natural Sciences I

Please let me know if you've taken any of the above exams, and if so, how much time you'd taken to prepare with InstantCert in order to get a passing grade.
Thanks!

I have taken several of the exams on your list, how much time needed to study for each exam depends on your prior knowledge(eg I lived through the Vietnam war so it didn't take me as long to study for that as it might take a young person). It will also depend on how you cluster the exams. If you take Foundations of Ed. near Educational Psyc. they will have some overlap and save some time. Again your mileage will vary and each exam has a different difficulty level Some people can take an exam like Ethics in America with little study while others will have to spend 20+ hours in study. You need to figure out how you will group your exams, how comfortable you feel witha subject and take what you consider your best or easiest subject and take that exam first so you start out with a pass and get a better understanding of the exam format. The specific exam feedback onnt his site will also help.

I took CLEP American Government. I used REA's Best Prep, Princeton Review's Cracking the AP U.S Government and Politics, and REA's AP U.S. Government & Politics Crash Course (my personal fave). All of them were very helpful. I found it necessary to know something about the 2008 presidential elections, as those were rather significant and the test had some questions on that. I scored a 60. Oh, and I didn't have the luxury of InstantCert at that time. Use it--it's great. I wish you success.
