Pre-work prior to 3/14 Start
#1
I'll be starting Your Pace at UMPI on 3/14.

First two classes are Bus 150 Intro to Financial Accounting and Bus 200 Intermediate Business Computing -

Is there any recommended pre-work to get ahead on these?

Otherwise I'll likely take few more courses on Sophia since I just renewed another month.

...though I do see of course the recommendations on this forum to do foreign language (Spanish) and Biology w/Lab on Study.com for a one month subscription. Am just not sure I can complete those by the 14th, and not necessarily wanting to be doing both Study.com and UMPI at same time.

****update - after I posted this -  I just saw the other post about Sophia Accounting course possibly being a transfer credit for 150 Intro to Financial Accounting; I realized I had not taken this course yet on Sophia (I had been on a track with WGU Business, and Accounting hadn't shown up); so I just started it now.

I just finished Bus 200 Intermediate Business Computing. The final has four components to it Word Brochure, Excel and a PowerPoint Presentation of a business of your choosing. It was a fun project, but took some time to plan. I would say just brush up on those skills for that final.

There is no pre-work. All of the reading will be on the learning platform.

Pre-work could mean anything that will get you ahead in the course, so taking a free Excel course if you don't know excel, or watching some accounting videos would count.

I might brush up on anything that you don't already know for these and the rest of your courses if you're interested. Like, taking Sophia's Project Management course but not sending the credits; or doing Khan Academy math to brush up if it's been a while and you're going to have to take Business Math; or whatever will make the learning quicker once you get into the program.

It would mean different things to different people, and depends on the degree.

Whoa that class is totally different than when I completed it! I had to write a 10-15 page case study about Biggie Logistics. The Strut Learning Platform course was called Fundamentals of Information Technology. Did the Strut Learning course change?

It may have changed. I did this course a couple of weeks back and there was no mention about "Fundamentals of Information Technology" on my end. It only referenced Bus 200 Intermediate Business Computing. The instructor was super responsive and great to work with.
