Hi everyone,
My goal is to get the pierpont BOG AAS and transfer that along with certs into WGU. Does anyone know if the BOG AAS transfers in and covers 60 credits worth of WGU stuff or do I have to be picky with what I take at sophia? I am trying to do the courses with no touchstones. I am interested in pursuing the WGI BSIT degree, thank you for any insight.

WGU doesn't accept block credit and they are picky about transfer credit. You'd have to see what courses from Sophia WGU is currently accepting as they've been making a lot of changes with Sophia recently. Don't get hung up on the Touchstones. You'll be writing at WGU so the practice now is a good thing.

As per my last post to your thread here, it's best to have the question on a post/thread that you've created, we can try to answer the questions. https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid410121

What are block credits? Yea I'll get to touchstones last, just trying to knock the easiest stuff out of the way first. So basically, WGU will not just give me 60 credits for an AAS BOG from pierpont? I would have to carefully choose which credits I get done at sophia/Pierpont right?

You can work on both at the same time, all the credits going towards your BOG, will transfer to WGU, it depends if it hits the requirements or not... You need to do this two fold, get the credits required for the Pierpont BOG AAS... Follow the links on partners.wgu.edu and select Sophia.org, do all the ones that transfer to the Bachelors of your choice. If you want to max the credits, redo the steps for Study.com, StraighterLine, whatever other provider that you are interested in...

At WGU, your GE will be waived, and then they'll match up all of the courses that you took to required courses, and do an eval to see what's left to take.

Right, but GE isn't anywhere near 60 credits at WGU. One is better off seeing what WGU is currently accepting from Sophia and taking those courses than just assuming they'll get 60 credits. Like I said, WGU has been making a lot of changes lately to what they're accepting from Sophia.

Awesome so according to this, https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/WG...egree_Plan, the 42 gen ed credits will be fulfilled by the AAS BOG from pierpont, the rest I have to figure out how to get the equivalent class?

So if I were to get the AAS BOG but never do for example English comp, which is listed as a gen ed requirement for the WGU BSIT degree, I would still have to get english 101 done? Or would the associates from pierpont cover that?

The associates would cover it, but in order to get that, you do have to have 3 credits in communications (which would include English comp classes or others).
Current: WGU BS, Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (093/122 credits)
Done: Pierpont AAS, Board of Governors: Information Systems emphasis (awarded Dec 2022)
