I just saw the question you asked about my son and how long he was out of high school. He was 20 when he applied and when he received his degree in Dec 2019. He was 2 years and 6 weeks out of high school when he applied in July 2019. Yes, this is a hard and fast rule.
He is actually looking at the RBA degree from Marshall as one of his options for his bachelors and he can't even apply for that until he is 4 years post high school, so he will spend the year he has to wait gathering more credits. The RBA and BOG degrees are both degrees based in the WV college system.
23 year old son: BOG AAS from Pierpont CTC Dec 2019
Myself: BS Business/French-1991, Masters of Rehabilitation Counseling-1995, Completed the Poetry in America Series from HES for 20 credits in English in May 2019.

1. So if you don't pay to take a pierpont class do they still give you transcript?
2. Since clep is out what is the cheapest way to get the computer course done? Would TEEX work?

I would think that Sophia's Intro to IT course should work as a computer literacy course. It wouldn't hurt to (also) do the free TEEX courses since they are, well, free.

Do you know if any dsst would work?

Honestly, a DSST is going to be much more work than Sophia. If you're even halfway computer literate, you can finish it really quickly. A DSST, if you can even find an open center, takes time to make the appointment, to study, to go to the center, to take the test, to come home, etc. Much more work.

Thanks hsfamfun.
Great to hear the details. Wishing your son luck on his continued endeavors!

My son took the 4 credit TEEX Cybersecurity 101 and that counted as his Computer course, it came in as INFO 1XX or something like that.
As far as I know, you still need at least a 1 hr class to be able to get transcripts. My son took the 1 hr. Career Exploration course, and I have to say it was excellent. He enjoyed it!

As predicted, Parchment DID NOT work for Pierpont. Considering the total spend specifically for the degree (counting transcript costs) should be less less than $100, I'm not too upset. It was only $5.
They called me today and left a voicemail about needing to send an official ACE transcript. That's fine. I've sent them my ACE transcript. I still have not finished English Comp II, so we'll see if I qualify for a degree yet or not. I certainly meet the requirement for the number of credits. But are they in the right spots?
I am impressed with how quickly they've responded based on other reports here. I was expecting to have to chase them down in a couple of weeks, but they are chasing me down. Good! It might help that I sent them my RA credits from ASU first so that they could see I'm a serious student who (mostly) will be an easy button-press for them? No idea.

This is the type of truly helpful information that makes DegreeForum awesome. I've lurked here for a long time and finally recently joined. I've posted for more than a decade on the other site. I feel so much more of a genuine community here.

What's the address or e-mail you are sending your transcripts to?

The OP of this post mentions he didn't do the 1hr career exploration course, just transfer credits and not a single class at Pierpont CT&C, does anybody else here have a similar experience?
