Are these peterson tests close to the offical Clep test I will be taking. I have taken ATI practice tests and that is what the college offered for their practice test I am wondering which test is closest to what I should really study since they are quite different.

They're pretty close to the CLEP exams, just harder. Besides the difference in difficulty they're a good measure of what areas you need to focus on. I've been scoring about a 40 on the Peterson and a 60ish on the CLEP (so far).

Not all Peterson's practice tests are representative of the actual CLEP tests. I recommend not using Peterson's for College Mathematics. The CLEP Offical Study Guide is far superior for College Mathematics. You should search for information on the exam you're going to take. Sometimes people indicate how well Peterson's matches up.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I can only speak for using the Peterson tests with the CLEP Humanities and Social Sciences & History. I didn't know about these practice tests when prepping for College Mathematics, only used Instantcert. Although math is fairly cut and dry on what subjects you would need to study for.
