Message from Pearson VUE:
Effective July 1, 2014 â You will be charged a test administration fee when you schedule your Excelsior College and UExcel exam appointments. Charges equal $50 USD for two-hour exams and $60 USD for three-hour exams. *Additional fees apply for phone transactions (scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling).
Candidates who are currently registered for an exam must schedule their appointments (but do not need to take the exam) by June 30, 2014, in order to avoid the $50 USD or $60 USD administration fee.
I've received a message in my MyExcelsior account regarding this matter. This means the prices of UExcels and ECEs will balloon. Am I missing something or is everyone else in the same boat? Cause I can't find anything on the forums regarding this matter....

Yeah... this, in combination with the finished update to DSST exams' scoring, is disappointing to me. I will probably give up on completing enough graded exams to get a GPA that could qualify for an honor. Oh well, it's not that important.

Boo! They priced themselves out of competition with CLEP, DSST, and TECEP. Most CLEP/DSST testing centers charge less than $20.

This is twice the ProctorU fee! Excelsior really has to do something now...

You could double-check whether SL courses are graded at EC. I was just looking through some old threads and we've been getting some mixed reports about it.

Excelsior doesn't have to do anything; by the looks of it they want to go in the direction of making a boat load of money.

Not sure if this is within Excelsior's control... since it's implemented by Pearson.

Regarding DSST, are you talking about switching the scoring system to the out of 500 system, or something else?
I'm down to my last one (for now) but I might just be rushed to take it depending on how bad this is.

Yeah, all the exams are now on the 200 to 500 scale. It's not DSST's fault, but Excelsior doesn't assign grades for that format.

Does Excelsior calculate DSST and UExcels in the final GPA? I know that TESC accepts them on a Credit/No Credit basis, with the final GPA calculated on TESC courses alone.
