PHD funded
#1
Hi,

Do we have a list of PhD funded programs which are not required application fee?

If you want a fully funded PhD you will need to check out B&M schools. Most will not be online, but there might be hybrid options depending on the area of research. If you have another source of funding such as an employer providing education benefits you might be able to self fund an online program.

Funded PhD programs are fairly competitive, so you really need to know what area you are going into and be sure you have enough experience/expertise in the area.

Some wont take students without a masters, though there are still programs that let people with bachelors complete without a masters.

I would think that this is a project that you need to do on your own than on some forum. I am almost sure that although very competitive that at least most schools offer at least one program that is fully funded but again it probably very competitive and you would need to know what to study, grades, experience, etc.

Don't plan on keeping your job and having a fully-funded PhD. You'll be expected to be a research assistant or to teach classes.

I think Johns Hopkins offers a fellowship to a small number of online DrPH students, but only 12% of applicants are selected.

It's possible to qualify for the SMART Scholarship for Service for an online program, but the process is highly competitive. It covers tuition and pays a stipend.

I don't think you understand how fully funded PhDs work lol...

They certainly won't be online and they WILL be competitive.

If an application fee is your main worry, I doubt you qualify.

"Not particularly in any area"

This statement alone, when referencing a PhD, is even more concerning....

Just to clarify, when I said “not particular in any area,” I was referring to my location, not a specific field. I hold a master's degree from the U.S. and have been in research are for many years. I'm trying to find out if this type of list is already available.

I've never seen any doctoral program not have an application fee. Have you checked the sister forum? Lot more doctoral program discussion over there.

Also, what is your Master degree in and is it RA or NA? This can help point you to lower cost programs, but as stated, I've also never seen any grad degree not have an application fee.
