I have searched for an imteresting school named Open University of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, not sure if it is accredited as the University of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv though.
Any thoughts? Taras Shevchenko Kyiv University is certainly a legitimate (and even prestigious) school. However, if you are having to ask such questions, it would be reasonable to assume that employers will be asking similar questions.
There are fine, low-cost RA alternatives for most common programs. Nontrivial cost would be incurred for the legalization and apostille of any diploma issued.
It is not my intention to belittle the program - quite the contrary, it is worthy of investigation. It would likely be more efficient to allow European accreditation bodies to make inquiries.
Respectfully,
Jonathan

The domain not being the same one as the original, https://knu.ua , is not a good sign. And after you search on the main website you will not find any mention about having an online component. So i went to the Enic Naric and to work my self through what they have to say and follow some basic steps what is the real domain and the governing body in Ukraine.
You end up in the registry and with the institute (Unified State Electronic Database on Education USEDE, https://registry.edbo.gov.ua)
https://registry.edbo.gov.ua/university/41/structure/
..the registry for the Taras Shevcehenko displays no online programs or a separated institute running along the original one. Even the website from the original one displays no separated entity;
https://knu.ua/ua/departments
Couple of odd red flags..they say to call them only on Tuesdays 10:00-12:00, while the site is offered in English and Arabic, quite strange.
Should anyone want to inquire more i would go with the official email from the Enic Naric representitve: centre@naric.in.ua

I've just emailed Enic Naric and see how it goes. I applied for the programme and paid the application fee before reading this post, and I want to confirm the next move. Hopefully, the result is positive otherwise, my application fee is gone....

My understanding is that this program is defunct, and never led to a legitimate Shevchenko U degree.

I just get the following reply from Naric: They replied to me in ukrainian, I translate them into English:
Good day!
Thank you for contacting our Center.
In response to your letter, we inform you.
You turned to the State Enterprise "Information and Image Center" of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The state enterprise "Information and Image Center" of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine performs the functions of the National Information Center for Academic Mobility (CMU Resolution No. 924 dated 31.08.2011). In particular, the Center's powers include checking the authenticity of education documents issued by educational institutions of Ukraine and other countries. The result of a positive check is that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine puts an "apostille" stamp on your educational documents, which confirms the legality of their issuance to the competent authorities for recognition in other countries.
The apostille of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is affixed to official documents related to the field of education and science, which were obtained on the territory of Ukraine and are to be used on the territory of the countries that have signed the Hague Convention (list https://apostille.in.ua/ua/pro -apostil-ua/perelik-krajin ).
Our Center provides a wide range of services, including affixing an apostille, verification of documents, production of certificates, formation of packages for international organizations, etc. More details on the website: https://apostille.in.ua/ua/.
We recommend contacting the Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine https://studyinukraine.gov.ua/how-to-apply/invitation-letter/ , they will most likely be able to provide informational support regarding your question.
We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that the website of the institution you indicated - www.knu.edu.eu - does not open and does not respond.
You can find the official website of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University at https://knu.ua/ .
We hope that the provided information will be useful to you.
We wish you good health, a nice and peaceful day! Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
What do you think? Still not clear?

I would say it is a scam, or a diploma mill at the very least. When looking at their fees, they only seem to offer non-official transcripts for which they charge 490 or 990 Euros for!!!! None of that seems legit......HARD PASS
https://knu.edu.eu/tuition-fee
2. Optional additional fee *
A. Any electronic document: 9 Euro
B. Any hard copy signed document: 190 Euro
C. Hard copy graduation package: 1990 Euro
D. Non-official e-Transcript: 490 Euro
E. Non-official hard copy transcript: 990 Euro
F. Supervisor by request and availability: 990 Euro per semester
G. Private individual teaching by request and availability: 90 Euro per hour.
H. Shipment by regular post 9 Euro and by secure shipment 150 euro (up to 200 grams)

bjcheung77 Wrote:That thread's old, things may have changed in regards to the institution (they may have gone for secondary/programmatic accreditation, or anything else in between, such as getting partnerships with another RA equivalent university). Yeah, it's best to get more details from the real deal to see if it's their Open University division or subsidiary.
Again, I'm quoting my previous post #4, as I mentioned, it's best to check with the institution to verify if the degree or provider is legit. An example is this price error a couple of years ago, I posted about a 'deal' before I got a response from LRN that they're NOT an approved center as these programs were 1/10th the regular price of approved ones...: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Management
Yes, be careful and cautious... You'll come across many UK institutions that falsely create a sense that they're 'an approved center' but they're not, some create the own "UK qualifications" but these are NOT approved by OfQual. I've come across many, so you need to make sure each institution/program you're interested in checked off all the boxes and fits all the bills/requirements for accreditation and/or recognition.

It is safe to say the older thread domain ( https://www.knuou.com/) was also misleading as the one that was linked in this one ( https://knu.edu.eu) both of these website had the same writing (the so called online program from 2020 and signing of joint programs and cooperation, misquoted and put out of context) and red flags. They are not related to the real Taras Shevchenko domain ( https://knu.ua ) and University.
