But even that way it was too long. Why can't they have a transcript of video?
That's what I do too, but there's no option to speed up the video and I usually watch all videos at 1.5x-2x. Also, the supplementary videos from lesson one cover how to install python on your computer, which was covered in the main video. So basically, they slowly and tediously cover the same thing 3 times which is redundant and wasteful of the student's time and they don't let you skip or speed up. I enjoyed the other courses I did with OD but I'm sorry, so far this one is trash.
The first question asks, "which........ did I mention in the lesson?" All the answers are conceptually correct, but they want you to watch the whole lesson to know THEIR answer. Annoying and not good for someone who has experience and is just looking for credit.
If this course continues like this in to the next lesson, I'm dropping it.

As someone who watches ASU videos at 1.25-1.5 speed (and most YT videos, too), the lack of speed controls is annoying.
I usually don't say so, but if there are no transcripts and no way to speed/slow the videos then someone needs to get on their case about discrimination against people who are hard of hearing. Also, Americans who aren't native English speakers.

I use chrome browser extension "Video Speed Controller" to speed up videos. Works fine.
There is a way to bypass that mark complete timer.
I got a few python cheat sheets that help keep track of things.

I noticed that videos are onlinedegree branded, not sure if they changed anything.
I just had them reset my progress since I completed 2 lessons about 2 years ago before the course maintenance. Man, the new videos are slow, dry, monotonic, and rambling on about trivial stuff. There is no longer an option to speed up the video at all. I was thinking of doing this in concurrence with another couple python programming courses that I'm working on but maybe not....

Here is an interactive hands-on course that is free and doesn't seem too long. I did about 1/2 of it so far, highly recommended.
https://cleverprogrammer.teachable.com/p/learn-python
Onlinedegree.com python course is free, just have to pay an $8 exam fee if you want credit. Onlinedegree takes a while to get use to. The videos are very good, quizzes are hard but if you can average 80% on them, it only takes 50% on the final to pass.

What do you think of CSE110 so far? I think the first and second week could've been one week; especially with there only being 2 questions on this week's graded quiz.

What do you think of CSE110 so far? I think the first and second week could've been one week; especially with there only being 2 questions on this week's graded quiz. I love it but agree, the first two weeks were way too short and simple. I like that they're focusing more on the programmer's mindset and way of thinking to solve problems before jumping into coding. Granted, I dabbled with python before this and already practiced logic games and binary/hexadecimal a bunch before this.
When I left a comment on the in class thread about working ahead or supplementing my studies they responded basically implying that it was bad habits and bad for learning. I guess they just assume everyone is an inexperienced freshman with no background knowledge/experience.
