"Women of color" was just
one of three vulnerable population examples mentioned. The others made no mention of race. But you seem fixated on it... for some reason.

Would you have no way to afford this class without this program? Are you part of a vulnerable population? Or do you just want to collect some free credits? You can parse and nitpick the fine print, but really... is this program really aimed at you?
Only you can answer these questions. And only you can decide how you would feel taking a spot from someone who truly does need this, if you merely "want" it. We're all adults here. Come on.
Very much agreed. This program and offer appears tailored for their local community, as there are additional services being offered to those who are enrolled.
I doubt many of us are the intended audience (although some may very well be in the vulnerable populations targeted).
Additionally, I read this to be an instructor led class offered online. I do not read this to be a self paced class.
Why? On Oakton’s website, it states: “Free web development classes taught virtually by Oakton instructors start Monday, Jan. 4.” A virtually taught class does not seem to me to be self paced.
On the Y site, they write: “Students are expected to complete job-related projects and work outside of class time and to be actively engaged in the learning process.” Again, doing projects outside of class time implies there IS a class time.
I hope those applying for this program fully understand the commitments and are willing to complete them, as well as meet the spirit of who the program is intended to help.

Hey Seagull!
Yes, I did. What Monchevy posted is under the
What is YWeb Career Academy? general description. I posted what is says under this program's "Are you eligible" category. I feel like people may have missed that. It still seems as though a few people are
still missing that.
Are you eligible?
YWeb Career Academy is designed to help women of color enter the tech field as web developers.
