Trump’s $355M fine won’t hurt NY businesses that follow the law, Gov. Hochul says

“I understand [that the Trump ruling might make New York business people fearful], but this is really an extraordinarily unusual circumstance that the law-abiding, rule-following New Yorkers who are businesspeople have nothing to worry about because they’re very different from Donald Trump and his behavior,” Hochul said

“This award, I mean, just leaving the whole Trump thing out of it and seeing what occurred here … And I’m no different than any other investor, I’m shocked at this,” O’Leary told Fox Business Network on Monday.

Where is the admission that it was a sham?  The governor said that if you engage in a decades long, systematic program to defraud the state and intentionally underreport your assets so as to reduce tax liability, that there will be consequences. If you DON’T do that, you will be fine.

Seems like pretty much the antithesis of a sham.

Someone would have to be pretty gullible to think this was not politically motivated.

So do you think he should not be charged because he is a politician?

I think Trump will definitely appeal the conviction. There are several grounds for appeal in cases like this, and one of the most common is the misapplication of the law by the trial judge.

If the judge made errors in interpreting or applying the law, Trump's legal team will argue that these mistakes led to an unjust conviction. Believe me, they will do that.
