New Sophia Course - Communication at Work

The Touchstone seems to be email templates... So it doesn't look that bad honestly. but with my past experience with touchstones? yeaaah

What was your past experience with Touchtones?  My daughter took about 30 credits with Sophia, and the only problem ones she had was the English which she CLEP'ed super easily!

Business Law was a breeze. If you understand it, it will b e easy. I posted a tip thread about it if you need a link to it let me know,.

English Comp I touchstones were easy. II, a lot of us had terrible graders

My daughter did great with the 10 touchtones she took. We were just trying to take as much as possible as quick as possible. My 3 already took Business Law at the local community college. Thanks though!!

Oooh, very nice. Wonder what it'll likely transfer into. For TESU, the most closely related one I can see is upper level (Business Communications, COM300), but Sophia are all lower level. Maybe Technical Writing (ENG201)?

Really hard to know what TESU will bring this in as.  Possibly Business Comm, possibly Tech Writing, maybe even a new number, sort of like Study.com's Presentation Skills in the Workplace.

When someone transfers it in, please let us know what course equivalency TESU brings it in as, and what area it is used in.

I just enrolled in this new communications course.

Am also completing CSM and really enjoying it.

Dropped sophia stats, hated it.

I certainly wasn't expecting any more Sophia courses this year. Nice surprise! I wonder if they'll have any more courses show up in the next few months.

Yeah I checked the ACE guide not listed yet for credit.

Sophia does say that it's ACE recommended so, hopefully, it shows up within the next day or two. It's not going to transfer anywhere (except Capella and Strayer) until it's in the guide.

Having taken a look at the touchstone, I have to say that it looks pretty simple and straightforward. Even easier than all the touchstones besides the first Foundations of English Composition one. It's a total of about 500 words: 200 for an email, 200 for a message to "your coworkers" and then about 100 words explaining exactly why you chose a specific method to contact your coworkers. They provide a template that you MUST use for this assignment (basically, just fill-in-the-blanks). There is no AP formatting. No providing links to your references. As soon as this is listed in the ACE guide, I'll be taking this to transfer to TESU.

Yeah exactly what rachel83az said the touchstone looks pretty good. I don't need it but I'm thinking of taking it anyways. I ahve to do an UL Communication class for business, but, this can at least help me prepare for it.

I would love for them to add Managerial Accounting, as that seems like a very obvious one they missed.

The badge shows ACE recommendation for 3 credits, but nothing on ACE's own website... this transition gets better every day! <eyeroll> At least a badge exists.
