New Competency Based Associate Degree

This is even a great stepping stone to some of the others of the Big 5 like TESU, COSC, Excelsior, and WGU with transferrable RA credits.

That's what I was thinking as well; if you're thinking of a CBE program at WGU or UMPI, this is a good way to test it out with a smaller chunk of your paycheck going towards it.  If you're thinking of going to TESU or COSC, then this is a good way to get 24cr of RA inexpensively and quickly.  Either way, it's a good option for a lot of people.

I'm super tempted to have my kid apply just to see how things come in (all RA stuff from other CC's).  She might even be amenable to picking up some credits this summer before her program begins.

I'd really want to see if they would let her choose which courses she took though.  If you're only planning on a single term there, you'd want to get the most bang for your buck.

Big 5 - I like it! Something about that just looks right to me. Shout out to @Vle045, who I believe was the first to use this term for these schools.

I'm also excited about the possibility of CNM Flex Path! Although to temper expectations a bit, there is a range of difficulty levels for CBE degrees, with some being very challenging (I'm looking at you PUG), and we don't know yet where CNM falls in that range.

I think this is a perfect starter associates degree, they have ACBSP for the AAS (TESU doesn't even have it)! There are discrepancies within the PDF and the website, see below where I have an * and -. Other than that, anyone can get 15 courses transferred to them from the list below and complete 5 courses of your choice in addition to the Capstone.

Flex Path AAS Link: https://online.cnm.edu/en/menu-degrees-c...ration-aas

All courses are 3 credits, except for Business Capstone, at 1 credit.

Your Flex courses will give you a recommended pacing guide with suggested due dates. If you follow the pacing guide, you should be able to complete your coursework within the expected period. Of course, you can always work ahead of the recommended pacing guide and complete your coursework sooner.

Wow! Many of these courses have the potential to transfer to UMPI into one of the BABA's. Quite a few courses could be completed with this degree if UMPI accepts them which I don't see why they wouldn't. You'd still need microecon which can be found on Sophia and to finish off the GEC but this gets a lot of business courses done.

Degree has been added to both https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/As...7s_Degrees and also https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Co...d_Programs

If anyone decides to go through with a degree from CNMC, I'd love to hear details. It probably deserves its own page on the wiki.

That’s awesome! I knew New Mexico wasn’t just going let everyone else have all the CBE fun.

I kind of want to do this. I just don’t want to end up like that Aric Hall guy and have 37 associate’s degrees while complaining about the government conspiracy to not hire me.

I mean, this checks all the same boxes for me as the TAMUC BAAS, and it would be the same cost. Maybe I just do them both. I did swear up and down that I’d never do another math course, but I’ve already broken that promise before with CSM and Sophia, so I’m not sure how good my word is anymore.

Looks very cool.

Amazing, wow! They're using the same system as UMASS Global, UMPI, and a slew of others, including a NON accredited college - Calbright in California. You can verify by viewing the homepage, it shows select Higher Ed clients on the banner! https://www.strutlearning.com/

If they're using the same system, this would be an interesting option as these are graded... you can BUMP UP your GPA like many UMPI'ers have done and at break neck speed... the cost/ease should be manageable since it's just $715/term... Hopefully this helps, gonna dig into it more.

The only thing I don't like: they don't do "categories" of things, they list specific courses, which makes it darn near impossible to see if the courses you've already taken will work. For instance, they list "Intro to Sociology" as a required course. BUT, my bet is, you need to take a Social Science course, and Intro to Soc is what they offer in this program. So if you have a different Social Science course, it may work in place of Intro to Soc. But VERY unclear. No bueno, I hate that.
