Hello! Thank you so much for all the positive feedback and helpful comments. We wanted to make sure to answer a few of the questions that were asked.
Quote:This is amazing! Will these courses be ACE recommended for 3 credits each?
Yes, all these courses were given recommendations of 3 semester hours by ACE.
Quote:What's the difference between Basic Genetics and Intro to Genetics?
We received feedback from some users about having âGeneticsâ in the course name (Genetics 101 versus Biology 102) when transferring courses, so thatâs why we have both recommended by ACE. Ultimately, though, there is very little difference between these two courses.
Quote:I hope that ACE approved study.com to offer 3cr for their business comm course. What's the point of 1cr?
We understand that 1-credit courses arenât ideal for many users, and weâre currently in the process of revising them and getting them reviewed by ACE to bring them up to 3 credits. Weâre hoping to do this soon!
Quote:Awesome! Keep them coming! Of course, the REAL hook is if you can get your upper level courses evaluated for credit. I know that's challenging, but that allows your customers to stay with you for 4 years instead of 2!
Thank you! Along with the 1-credit courses, we are actively revising many of our 300-level courses and getting them reviewed by ACE in the hopes of receiving upper-level credit recommendation. At the moment, the courses we do have recommended for upper-level credit by ACE are:
English 305: Advanced Technical Writing
Business 312: Advanced Operations Management
Quote:Study.com, there is also very very much a need for a good selection of ACE-approved upper level Social Science courses as well.
Thank you for the recommendations of social science, computer science, and natural science among others! Weâre always looking for more courses to create and offer for credit, and weâre already in the process of developing some of these types of courses. We really appreciate the input!
Quote:Does anybody know what the course equivalence for these new courses are going to be at TESU? Or does anybody know who exactly I can email to find out? Thanks in advance!
Weâre in conversation with Thomas Edison about updating the course equivalencies, so we donât yet have this information. We hope to have the transfer guide updated on our site within the next few weeks.
Thank you again for your questions, comments, and suggestions!

study.com,
Thanks for the update! Clarification please -- when we here at the degreeforum say "upper level" or "UL", we are generally referring to 300 & 400 level classes as they transfer in to the end goal college/university rather than as they are listed on your end ... and from what I am seeing, the English 305 is actually listed as transferring to TESU as Eng-201, which means it is NOT UL credit as given on the current Thomas Edison State University page.
Are you saying that that course has now been reevaluated, and is being used as UL credit (ie. 300 or 400 level) when it transfers in?

They mean UL as evaluated by ACE. There's nothing Study.com (or anyone else that matter) can do if a college chooses not to bring in a course as UL. Every college has the option on bringing in a course as whatever they want to bring it in as. The Advanced Technical Writing course IS ACE-recommended as UL, so TESU not bringing it in as UL is just goofy (since they routinely bring LL courses in as UL). But if ACE recommends it as an UL course, that's as good as Study.com can do.

Well, as good as they can do for the moment... if they are in the midst of working with TESU to revamp their transfer equivalencies list, it wouldn't hurt (in my mind) for them to advocate for the courses, especially those listed by ACE as UL, to be accepted as UL. The best time to push for that might be in the midst of transition

As dfrecore mentioned, we cannot decide how universities choose to accept our courses, so we are referring to upper-level ACE credit recommendation. We do understand, though, that this can be frustrating. As you suggested, we will ask TESU about these upper-level courses during our conversation about the transfer guide and advocate for them to be equivalent to upper-division TESU courses when they transfer in. Thank you so much for your input, and we'll be sure to reach back out once the transfer guide is up and on our site!

Another awesome feature to add would be allowing the course to be sent straight to TESU instead of needing to use ACE as a middle-man.

Yes!!! :iagree: I have been thinking to contact study.com directly to ask about the possibility of a direct transcript -- I loved how SL does/did that.
But so far every time I contact them with a question they don't know the answer to, they tell me to look on the syllabus which doesn't help because if it was on there, I wouldnât be asking

That would be awesome. Maybe the Study.com rep who comes on here might look into it for us.

Thanks so much for this feedback! We'll look into this and see if we can make that happen. We'd love more information from you about how you'd want this service to work as well. Are there any specific requests you have about a transcript service like this and how it would function?
