Please help. I need to try and complete my degree by December to be eligible for a promotion in January.
I have transferred 97 total credits for a Bachelor's of Science in Liberal Arts. Excelsior is stating I have to attain 23 credits to attain my degree. I plan on transferring in up to 113 Credits and only completing the Cornerstone, Information Literacy, and Capstone at Excelsior. According to the MAP I need:
23 Total Credits
- 5 Arts and Science Upper Level Credit-What classes can I take outside Excelsior
- 18 Any Academic Lowel Level
3-Ethics- Where can I take this outside Excelsior
2-Math -Where can I take this outside Excelsior
3-Cornerstone
3-Capstone
1-Info Literacy
Leaving me with 6 credits from the Any Academic lower level- Can I transfer more FEMA credits?
I tried speaking to Excelsior, but they won't let me speak to an Advisor until I register for the Cornerstone class which I plan on registering for in October. I would like to complete a lot of these requirements prior to October. I have also attached my academic plan in a PDF format. Thank you

For a BA Liberal Studies, Sophia is a great way to get "any" LL, including Ethics and Math. https://excelsior.sophia.org/
Beyond that, carrythenothing is right that we don't know what you've taken, so we can't give specifics for UL. Something from Coopersmith, perhaps. https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Co...Consulting
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

My apologies at this moment I have not taken any classes at Excelsior. I have attached my complete Unofficial Transcript/ MAP Planner from Excelsior. I have taken many credits at Bergen Community College, Montclair State University, John Jay College, and credits earned through training from the New York City Police Department. I am not aware what actual classes were substituted by Excelsior from my transfer Credits. I am new to this and haven't been to School in quite a while so any help would be appreciated. Please any input would be appreciated.
23 credits needed
I plan on doing:
- Ethics at Sophia.org to satisfy my Ethics requirement
- Statistics at Sophia.org to satisfy my Math requirement
- Looking to do 2 Upper-level classes outside Excelsior to satisfy my needed Arts and Sciences Upper- Level requirement
- Transfer in 7 FEMA Credits
- 1-Cornerstone at Excelsior
- 1-Capstone at Excelsior
- 1- Information Literacy at Excelsior

Did you take Italian because you're fluent and it'd be an easy class, or did you take Italian to learn? If the first one, you could take an ACTFL exam to get UL credit in Italian. That would count as an UL Arts & Science class.

Because I am fluent in it.

In that case, it's easy. You should be able to fill almost all "Arts and Science Upper Level Credit" and "Any Academic Lowel Level" with two exams. https://www.languagetesting.com/lti/prod...ng_id/7253?
I would take the reading and listening tests ($202 total) ASAP. Assuming you can score "Advanced High" or better due to your fluency, that's a total of 6 UL and 12 LL credits. https://www.actfl.org/assessment-researc...ssessments
That leaves you with 6 credits that can be "anything". Since you need Sophia for Ethics & Algebra (easiest/cheapest way to get those requirements filled), don't bother with expensive ($50+/credit) FEMA credits. Take any/all of the following at Sophia:
Environmental Science
Human Biology
Introduction to IT
Conflict Resolution
Visual Communications
These can be completed quickly, 1-2 days each, because they have no assignments. I would do them all, in the unlikely event that Excelsior decides that 6 of the ACTFL credits overlap with the 6 existing Italian credits. They shouldn't, but it's good to be safe.
With the current 25% off Sophia for the first month, you'll be able to finish your degree (not counting the Excelsior courses) for under $300.
You could also do Intro to College Math instead of or in addition to Algebra. Do whichever math is easiest for you.

I spoke to a representative today that informed me Excelsior will take FEMA credits direct when enrolled in a degree program (no need for 3rd party such as Frederick comm college. I just saved myself $540.00 or two unnecessary classes. FEMA fulfills lower level requirements.

Wow, if EU actually takes FEMA now without it on a college transcript, that's awesome! Excelsior would now be the best option of the Big 3 and UMPI would be the best option for CBE... @new2this, can you verify this by copy/pasting what email correspondence you have from the academic advisor? Previously, it had to come from FCC for that to work... Are these FEMA with ACE recommendation for credit or without?
