This is an interesting issue. I thought that what you are saying is true until I asked TESU to actually add the math ASNSM to my official degree plan. This was just after I took the CLEP and DSST. When everything came in, the copy/paste above is what it looked like. This wasn't the unofficial pulldown. It is the personalized Academic Evaluation. Now, I suppose that it could be incorrect. My best guess is that the requirements for the ASNSM are different than the requirements for the AOS in the bachelors degree. It won't really matter much to me. I have taken the geometry class at Study.com and the first EdX differential equations class. I am just about to take the exam for the study.com calc. class to get Calc. II. I am also going to do the shmoop geometry. I am basically taking every easy and cheap math class that I can get my hands on. I am kind of leaning away from the ASNSM in math at this point. I will probably end up doing the BSBA accounting/CIS with the ASNSM computer science just because I think that it might be a better combination. Then I can just say that I have 40 or 50 college credits in math and it won't matter. [/quote] Very interesting indeed!! I guess my brother got an Advisor with a different perspective than yours? lol Just like you, he has all the math credits he will need for the ASNSM, luckily. At this point, he is considering finishing out the BA in Math instead. I really appreciate all the knowledge that you guys bring to this forum. Thanks for taking the time to share.

I am considering the possibility of getting an ASNSM in Math along with my BA-LS. Can someone post what an ASNSM degree plan looks like? I also have the following questions:
1. Can any of the TEEX credits be applied towards the Natural Sciences requirement? I currently have 6 credits in the sciences section (NAS-131 & BIO-101). If TEEX credits can fill the remaining 3 credits, that would be great. Otherwise, I plan to complete CHEM-101 on Saylor. 2. For Math, I plan to complete Statistics & Trig on Aleks, as well as the CSM quant reasoning course. I am also currently learning Calculus on Saylor, which is worth 4 credits. I already have MAT-121 applied to my degree. What other course options do I have? 3. Will I be required to complete the new SOS-110 Cornerstone for ASNSM? Or will I be allowed to go with the older Cornerstone, as I am enrolled since 2018 December? Will Davar’s ‘Math for Business’ (MAT-202) work?

I can't answer 1 or 3 with any certainty, but I can tell help with #2:
In addition to 3 credits of Calc 1, you'll need 19 credits of "other" math (13 for the AOS, three for QuantLit, three for the Math GenEd requirement). Since Saylor's Calc is 4 credits, you can use the one credit overflow to get it down to 18. Not sure how the CSM-Learn class comes in, but I'm guessing it can fill the QuantLit category, so that leaves you needing 15. With MAT-121, Trig, and Statistics, that gets you to only needing 6 more by my count. Study.com has several options for the last 6 - Math 101, Math 102, Math 108, Geometry 101, and *possibly* Math 107 (I'm guessing this duplicates with the CSM class) should all work. Additionally, there's the Liberal Arts Math TECEP. I'm drawing a blank on other options. Excuse my ignorance, but are you taking Physiological Psychology as part of your BALS? If so, that should satisfy the last science credit for the ASNSM-Math (that's what I'm doing, but I'm doing the BA-Psych instead of the BALS-Psych so not sure if Physiological Psych is something you'll be taking).

Thank you @mysonx3. I am not taking Physiological Psychology. Are you taking the Coopersmith course? Let me know how the course is- in terms of length and difficulty.

But I actually purchased the Coopersmith course already (oops!) before realizing that it would be optimal to take through BYU instead. It appears that it's just an exam, though they provide quite a bit in the way of study materials, in addition to recommending a textbook. So it really should be considered a credit-by-exam course rather than a typical course like Study.com might offer. Might be a good option for you (or someone else) to kill two birds with one stone if you still need an UL BALS class and want to knock out the "extra" science for an ASNSM at the same time.

News for anyone considering ASNSM- Math: The $ 39 CSM course seems to fulfill the electives requirements!! I just tried the mock evaluation option on TESU’s OSS, and sure enough, BUS-210: Quantitative skills for Business, features on the list alongside MAT-121, and some other math courses I have planned into my evaluation.
So, that whets my appetite for ASNSM-Math now!!
