Shorter uses Calculus&Mathematica, the same program as UIUC's NetMath. I took one of the calculus courses through NetMath and, while it wasn't especially hard, it was a lot of work. It was also unconventional in its teaching approach, which meant it was hard to turn to outside sources like Kahn Academy when I needed extra help. If you just need the credit, there are probably easier options than Shorter.

And much less expensive ones. I am a bit surprised that the local community college doesn't have a three credit Business/Applied Calculus course.

Not only will calculus with the word "business" in the title be much, much easier than engineering calculus, it will probably be better in your case. You'll cover more topics (in less depth), your examples will be in terms of business and economics rather than physics and you won't spend time learning proofs. Whether you go online or in person, Yenisei's advice to focus on Business/Applied classes is good.
