If you live out-of-state, then the tuition and fees end up costing more than $800. My kid did the $1700 deal, one 3cr course ended up being $972.
So don't do this if you're out-of-state.

$172 isn't a bad deal if you take a course not offered by ONU.

I will try to take it, last year I start with them. I took the CBE courses that is a flat fee and I got $200 refund check, then I took in spring one course, and they send me a refund check of $724, I will now take one credit course let see if I get refunded, I know they are very expensive.

Interesting, so they paid you to take courses with them? Or was this a refund after you've paid some fees? My guess is it will get expensive for those who are not covered by the entire thing, especially out of state or international students.

The last offer was for $1700, rather than $800, and it was for any number of credits.
This offer is a minimum of 3cr. So you're not going to get around their requirements to get money back if you're out of state.

Jumping through the hoops to get this deal is excruciating. I finally gave up and said it wasn't worth the pain and agony. My kid finally got enrolled, and got money and 3cr - but it took a good bit of work to get in.
Normally I'd say $172 was an ok deal (they even have 300- and 400- level classes) but you actually have to apply and get in, take placement tests, and a bunch of other stuff. The only reason my kid got around a lot of it was because she took a culinary course that had no requirements (I think it was Sanitation & Safety or something like that).

Yes, they paid me the rest of the money.
I'm happy with that, I took that funds and I did some courses from study.com I will try one more time to get some extra refunds, so I can use to take inexpensive course else where. Look I received twice 1700 I took the CBE and I left with 200 dollars they told me that if I do not claim it they will send the fund back to US department of Education so in sprig I received one more time 1700 dollar and I only to one course I end with 724 dollars, they charge a lot $970 for one course and a bunch of fees, so I received back the rest in my US bank account I also have an Address in the US from relatives so the first time I received a CHECK and the second time they offer me I wire transfer. This time I will take a one credit course and let see if I get a refund later.

This time they're requiring that you take at least 3cr, and they changed it from $1700 to $800.
