My "I'm DONE" Thread
#1
My turn to say..I'm done. I want to thank everyone here for all the excellent advice, warm wishes, and all the wonderful friendships I have made. This truly is the most supportive and kind forum where I have ever been a participant. You guys rock!

Words of encouragement and so forth: Yes, you can do this! If I can, anyone can. I sat here studying plenty of times with my baby on my lap, feeling frazzled and overwhelmed, trying to click my way through the flashcards with my keyboard unhooked so my kidlet could play with it, trying to take notes with one hand and keep him out from under my desk with the other. If a single mother working twelve hour night shifts can do this with a one-year-old clinging to her leg, so can you! I am so grateful that this process exists, I do not know any other way I could have completed a regionally accredited BS with my work and baby tending schedule. I am proud to have set an example for my son, and I am even more pleased to have finally achieved a lifelong goal.

How I did it:

Started with a meager handful of credits from a B&M school & AP credits

05-01-2006 CLEP Social Sciences and History--65
05-01-2006 CLEP History of the United States I: Early Colonization to 1877 --65

I took a break here and had a baby!

Then, July 9th, 2008, my company announced they were going close by June 30th, 2009.....

Waited a few weeks here for all my scores to show up at Excelsior...
03-05-2009--Called Prometric and requested that my missing scores be sent right away!
03-05-2009----Excelsior Information Literacy Course--82%

All Done...sorta. Still waiting for my geology credits to show up, since all I am missing now are the last three science credits on my status report. But all my exams are done! BS, Liberal Studies, Excelsior College-- Planning my next move...

I have already paid for the GRE Literature in English exam, so I'm going to just go ahead and take it. I may take the GRE General exam as well. I'd like to have some good scores for my grad school applications. I have no idea what my next move will be, but I am very pleased to have finished four months ahead of schedule. I will probably take a few weeks off after the GRE Literature to research grad school options, request catalogs and applications, plus I would like to just enjoy some time with my son. But I will keep you all updated! Good luck everyone!
