Morgan State MS/PhD (High transfer credit, low tuition)
#11
Any update on finding and what it takes? Also, has anyone learned that there are only 2 intakes per year (Fall and Spring) or just one (Fall 2025)?
Thanks

Thanks very much NotJoeBiden for posting this!

Have you requested information about these degrees/are you considering one of these, NotJoe?

Please keep us posted. I noticed the admission requirement states, "Minimum Admission Criteria

The Interdisciplinary Doctoral Degree Programs are for students who have reached the "All But Disseration" (ABD) status."

I meet the other requirements (MS) and have over 12 credits in doctoral study for transfer but I am not "ABD."

Most colleges do not list ABD on transcripts. They might list a defense or something similar, but the ABD status is not an official designation, so I suspect there is some flexibility.
My transcript says "PHD Candidacy Reached" and has a date for when I reached ABD or, "candidacy", as my school called it, meaning I had met my coursework, exams, proposal defense, and teaching requirements.  Dissertation, well, that was a different matter and why I am not Dr. Freeloader...
I made it to candidacy status too in PhD program. I just ordered my transcripts to see what they say. I've always wondered. I am contemplating going back to try and finish.

From being in a previous doctorate program. About half of people dont complete their doctorate.

Other methods might be a level 8 cert or transferring in master level classes in some cases. Some US schools do not distinguish masters or doctorate coursework until dissertation/thesis

Any updates?

* I read that it requires courses transferred in for any interdisciplinary degrees must be from a "REGIONALLY accredited" program, so likely foreign coursework such as a UK certificate or VUL DHA is not eligible.
