I was surprised to learn these subjects are
in humanities not business. I also heard these
courses are not overly abstract and easy
subjects in comparison to others. Could
any one elaborate. Is there a lot of math?

I believe these fall under Social Science....there is some math, I wouldn't say "a lot."...I took micro at a B&M and hated it (just couldn't grasp it at all)...I just finished macro through Straighterline and even though it was self-pace, I hated it just the same...the tests did have math but the majority of the test was senarios/definitions...economics is not my favorite subject...I've heard that the macro/micro CLEPs are doable.

They are also core courses for the business curriculum as well, IIRC. They definitely aren't considered humanities, though.
I have a BA in Economics and, as I recall, all you need is basic arithmetic and algebra for Intro Micro and Macro and to be able to read graphs (it gets intuitive after awhile).

Yes, Social Science not Humanities. There is a lot of interpreting graphs. Know what factors either slide things along an existing graph or cause the graph to move. While not subjects to take lightly they are definately doable as CLEP.

Glance through the IC cards and see what you think. Start off with the first section of the Macro cards. You might find that you like it. Lol.. even though I failed the test, it wouldn't have been too hard had I put in more time studying.
