It's on her ACE transcript. Please don't let this be so.... She took that course several times before passing!!
Huh

So first, COSC is only 1 of the Big 3, and there haven't been any issues getting ALEKS credits into any of the Big 3, so even if COSC doesn't take them because they aren't a "partner" the other 2 still will (as will plenty of other schools).

Second, ALEKS may end up being a partner, in which case you don't have to worry about this.

COSC takes credit only from following:
  • StaighterLine

  • Study.com

  • Saylor

  • Sophia

  • CSM learn
ALEKS  is not accepted. I got email from them today

I was wondering if anyone knows if it's acceptable to do ART HISTORY 2 and US HISTORY 2 Sophia courses without ever doing ART HISTORY 1 or US HISTORY 1 Sophia courses to cover these gen - Ed requirements at COSC? I don't have time to do them all. ( the first courses show up as either electives or not accepted. I figured why risk it but now am not sure you are allowed to jump past the first level courses)

Also anyone know for certain the ethics course acceptance is really current? The link supposedly is old at the site...but doesn't show it.

Thanks !!

Sophia doesn't care which one(s) you take. COSC probably takes both Art History I and US History I (from what I've heard) but the Sophia site may be out of date. But as far as Sophia is concerned, you can take whichever courses you want (or don't want).

Thanks for the response. I actually meant would COSC accept the courses ART HISTORY 2 and US HISTORY 2 without ever taking the ART HISTORY 1 and US HISTORY 1 courses. I am currently taking US HISTORY 2 and would hate to see it disqualified because I didn't take the prior class.

I dont see why they will not accept it.

Its the same as English  com 2. Eng com 1 is not requirement to be able to transfer Eng com 2 by itself. So why History and Art History will be any differ?

If, for whatever reason, COSC doesn't actually accept Art History I and US History I, they're hardly going to penalize you for not taking the classes that they don't accept.

These both cover different time periods, they don't build on the 1st course in the series.  So there won't be a problem.

Also, with something like math, you can jump in wherever you want - you aren't required to take every math course prior to Calculus for example - if you can pass the course, they'll give you credit.

Some degrees want you to take a series of courses (take TESU's BSIT which wants Chem I & II or Physics I & II).  Then, it's just a requirement for the degree, and they want both, but if you were to take Physics II at a school, and you weren't getting that particular degree, they wouldn't care, they'd take it, as will COSC.
