Hello, Please excuse my ignorance, I'm new to the US (US Permanent resident) and don't really understand how many things work. An AAS would be helpful to me for gaining employment for a job I've been looking for. I would like to know if I could qualify for Pierpont AAS (or any AAS that would take reverse credits) and the cost associated for it
I've been looking to enroll in WGU BSIT - So I've completed Coursera Google IT Support & Google UX Design certificates (via TADA). And I've also done around 70 credits from sophia, straighterline & study.com. I have got an High school equivalency GED which I did last month on March 2023.
Would I be eligible for Pierpont? How much would it cost for me? Will it be BOG? Is it possible to get a Business AAS only from Sophia courses towards Pierpont? Thank you

Pierpont is only available to US citizens and green-card holders.
If you need guidance it would be helpful to list all the all exact courses you did from Straighterline, Sophia, Study.com and TADA.

The AAS BOG from pierpont is free. You need to have the general courses done which it sounds like you probably have enough and the rest are electives. You should list all of your credits you've taken so others here can help create a plan for you to follow. You can have an area of emphasis in business if you meet the requirements. You'll have to apply to the school, send in your credits, and speak with Nancy Parks there to assist in graduating. The next graduation date is May 12th so I don't think you'll have time, but you could be easily done for August graduation I believe.
Completed:
UMPI: BA Criminal Justice
Pierpont: AAS BOG w/ Emphasis in Information Systems
Sophia: 24 Courses - The CSM Course - ASU: CIS 194 Business Technology Fundamentals
Coursera: Google IT, Google Data Analytics, Google Digital Marketing, IBM Cybersecurity Analyst

As a US permanent resident, I believe you should be eligible for the Pierpont BOG AAS. If, for some reason, you are not, I would not pursue another Pierpont degree, nor would I pursue an AAS from a different school. It's likely to cost as much, if not more than, the WGU BSIT degree you want. The next cheapest degrees would cost several thousand dollars, at minimum.
That said, assuming you are eligible for the BOG AAS, most of your questions are answered here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C%26TC
Total cost would be:
Pierpont: $0
ASU: $25 + $15 transcript fee to send credit to Pierpont
Sophia: $99-$297, depending on how long it takes you to finish any remaining required credits.
Without a list of what you've completed, I don't know if you have completed the 15 required credits in English/Communications, Math/Science, Social Studies, and Computer Literacy.
Nor do I know if you have finished 15 Business credits. Sophia offers between 5 and 8 Business classes (15-24 credits), depending on whether things like Accounting are also classified as business or only as Accounting. One possibility would be to complete the Google Project Management certificate through TADA. That should give you 9 Business credits. Take another 6 Business credits from Sophia, if you haven't already, and you've got your Area of Emphasis in Business.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Thank you for your detailed reply. I wrote in to Ms Parks who informed me about having atleast one college credit from traditional college that comes in with a letter grade. (I belive that can be met by taking ASU 1 credit tech support course) I'm open to more courses from Sophia if I can. I also can do Project management as it is free if that will add in credits.
Sophia courses I've completed -
Composition: Writing with a Strategy
Composition: Successful Self-Expression
Critical Thinking: Reason and Evidence
Introduction to Communication: Connecting with Others
Global Arts and Humanities
Introduction to Physical and Human Geography
Applied Algebra
Applied Probability and Statistics
Integrated Physical Sciences
Natural Science Lab
Introduction to IT
Data Management - Foundations
Scripting and Programming - Foundations
Web Development Foundations
Business of IT - Project Management
Principles of Management
I've also completed from TADA / Coursera
Google IT Support certificate
Google UX Design certificate
Study.com
Network and Security - Foundations
Data Management - Applications
Information Systems Management
Emerging Technologies
Straighterline
Technical Communication
American Politics and the US Constitution
Organizational Behavior and Leadership

The SL American Politics course should count for the Social Sciences portion. Assuming it does, it looks like you've met the subject requirements for the BOG AAS.
I don't know if Sophia's Project Management will overlap with the Google Project Management course. If it doesn't, I believe you'll have enough Business credits after completing the Google certificate to get the Business AoE. If it does, you'll need one more Business course from Sophia.
It looks like you'll also have more than completed the 60 credit total requirement. So, to get what you want, you still need:
ASU $25 1-credit course
Google Project Management Certificate
Maybe 1 Sophia Business class (perhaps Business Law or Intro to Business?)
If you still have an active Sophia subscription, I'd go ahead and finish a Business class before doing the TADA Google certificate. If you don't have an active subscription, you can wait until after you've sent everything to Pierpont and your transcripts have been evaluated; the extra Business class might not even be needed.

@probablystupid, hey, how goes? That's a great first post and follow up with some course details. I'd still suggest adding extra info if you can to clue us in on a few things... You may want to fill in the template and last post addendum here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works
I agree with the initial evaluation, you just need the ASU $25 1-credit course for graded RA and the rest can come from the providers you have taken courses from. Continue working on the TADA offerings after you have completed the ASU course, apply to Pierpont, send all your transcript info, and ask for graduation audit.

You could also wait until you start taking courses at WGU, and send in your first credits from there to meet the RA credit requirement.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

WGU credits would not count. WGU credits are not graded. Usually not a problem. For Pierpont, however, it is. Pierpont requires at least one graded credit that isn't from an exam.

Yes thats why i have signed up on ASU and waiting for ASURITE ID and then have to wait for 24hrs. Have already started on google project management as well and will speed run. Dont want to really do any more sophia courses if i can avoid since i have already done as many as I have for wgu requirement but will suck up and do if the requirement is still there.
