That seems like a stretch to go from Accounting to the MBA.  There’s really not much finance in it especially for a CPA.  It’s a good program if your goal is an MBA.  It also includes Grammarly Premium, WSJ subscription, LinkedIn Learning,  Sophia (but not useful for graduate credits), and I think my free coursera account is through them (not sure on that one).  The focus leans more toward leadership, communication, and general business concepts.  There’s nothing so far that suggests extensive knowlege in accounting or taxation.
They want money lol
I just want to learn about tax. They teach leadership skills at Big Four

That’s possible. It is more expensive than any other program they have. Especially if you aren’t getting a discount.  For me, I get a discounted fixed rate.  I pay the same flat rate per term no matter what courses I take. Based on where some of my classmates work, I think most students are on a similar plan. One of the things I hate about admissions at most colleges is that it’s really just sales.
MBA - JWMI (in progress)

Are you getting a good discount or university-specific reimbursement?

I ask because the Strayer degree only includes 3 tax courses in the master’s degree.  To me, there are much better options elsewhere, unless you need to attend Strayer.
Master of Accountancy (taxation concentration), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, in progress.
Master of Business Administration (financial planning specialization), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, in progress.

BA, UMPI.  Accounting major; Business Administration major/Management & Leadership concentration.  Awarded Dec. 2021.

In-person/B&M: BA (history, archaeology)
In-person/B&M: MA (American history)

Sophia: 15 courses (42hrs)

My company does tuition reimbursement, but I applied to other programs. I was accepted into University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management's program. It's on the pricier side though. I applied to cheaper schools in Florida, Colorado, Kentucky, and Louisiana.
Sad that other schools are cheaper than California in state tuition

If you just want to learn about tax. Why don't you focus on a Master's in Taxation instead of a MS in Accounting Taxation?

Another consideration if you want to study the most advanced areas of taxation. Apply for tax law programs at law schools.

I think we are just confused because you say you want to study tax, but have applied to programs with very few tax hours; you say you don’t want to take out loans, but have applied to some very expensive programs. You didn’t ask for help and if you don’t want it, just say.

Strayer wasn't the only school I applied to and Carlson was the most expensive I applied to. I mean If you know any MBTs or MLS in Taxation under 20k I'm happy to hear about them.
