Is Xenophon College London legit?
#1
Hello,

I was looking for an affordable MSc Psychology (UK, but distance learning) and the aforementioned school popped up.

Apparently they have also a campus at UniCusano, an Italian university in Rome (probably I got to see the offer because I'm located in Italy); they advertise a MA in Psychology, but the course brochure mentions an MS conversion program. Moreover, it says that the Xenophon college is an academic partner of the University of Chichester, which validates the course (this is quite interesting).

Have you heard of it? Is it something like UniAthena that offers degrees through partners institutions?

Thank you!

Generally Yes.
You can apply for the courses through UCAS, the official college entrance platform of the UK.
But you have to be cautious that they are teaching schools and do not have the authority to award academic degrees so they partner with U of Chich.  Even local Londoners may not put it as a first option as there are many universities offering high-quality HE programs in London.

@SkintGradStudent, Yes, it's very similar to UniAthena. Basically, it's a learning center that has authorization to provide specific courses for transfer. It's like a 1&1 system to get you to your degree choice.

Just wanna add that I contacted UniCusano regarding their international programs and I received a link to the XCL program offerings. The bachelor programs cost €2000/yr (scholarship according to them).

Their masters in psychology too (1 yr, offer valid until the end of June), although on the web page it's a MA, while the brochure is about a MS conversion  Confused

A very quick way to check if an institution in the UK's legit is by looking at its domain.

https://xcl.ac.uk/ end with ac.uk so they are most likely legit (just likr .edu for American institutions).

Another example, the "London School of Business and Finance", is very doubtful as can be ssen from their domain: lsbf.org.uk.

Hi,

I am currently enrolled as a student at the Singapore branch of LSBF, and I want to emphasize that it is not a fake school or a degree mill. LSBF collaborates with accredited institutions in the UK, and the degrees are ultimately awarded by these universities. It should be noted, however, that LSBF itself does not possess degree awarding powers.

I will soon be graduating from the University of Greenwich, UK, and am awaiting the final results for my BA(Hons) . The University of Greenwich is one of the institutions working with the LSBF and you can also find clarification on the University's website https://www.gre.ac.uk/articles/public-re...management

That's great, as I mentioned earlier, these partnership programs are a very good option. Essentially, you do have to take half the program at the learning partner center or online, and finish the other half online at the institution of choice. These 1 & 1 partnerships are pretty affordable, even more so if you're in the EU.

Yes! Ture!

I actually had experience with London School of International Business (LSIB) and I would like to prove for anyone who doubts it that it is equally not fake school, I completed my OTHM level 4 and 5 Diplomas with them and was transferred to Arden University in the UK to complete my Top up(Final year) Bachelor of Arts (Hons) course. Big Grin

By the way,I also did the WES assessment and the level 4 and 5 diplomas from OTHM are recognized as equivalent to a US Undergraduate certificate (one year) emmm, interesting... see the WES analysis:

CREDENTIAL ANALYSIS

Credential Authentication: Documents were sent directly by the institution
Country or Territory: United Kingdom
Credential: OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management
Year: 2021
Awarded By: OTHM Qualifications

Similar to the organization QUALIFI level 7 Diploma I did the WES assessment, they are considered equivalent to the US Graduate Certificate (one year).see the WES analysis:
