Inexpensive Sources for Transfer Credits for MSW
#1
Hello!

Thanks to this forum I finished my Bachelor's - you guys are the best!

Now I am applying for MSW (Master's in Social Work) programs.

I am trying to do this for the least amount of $$ or the quickest time for a CSWE accredited program.

I see a few programs that take as many as 15 transfer credits for the MSW.

Does anyone know of a source for inexpensive MSW credits that I can use to transfer?  It looks like most programs that accept MSW transfer credits accept any accredited program credits.

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you have a bachelors in social work , Eastern University will give you advanced standing in the MSW program only requiring 30 credits which comes out to roughly $14,440 minus books. If you don’t have a bachelors in social work , it would require 60 credits and the cost will be roughly $28,880 minus the cost of books. Its fully online with 7 week courses

Another cost alternative could be Fort Hayes University MSW requires 66 credits but they are cheaper at $320 per credit without including fees or books. If you have a bachelors in social work , you can apply for advance standing program which is 36 credits. Their classes I believe are 7/8 weeks long each. I would contact the school to confirm.

I am sure you will find other options or cheaper rates at state universities. Each school has its own transfer credit policy.

Thank you! I'll check those out. I didn't graduate with a BSW so I have to do the longer route. Your help is appreciated.

I know this is a tangential response to the original question and also recognize that this is really going out on a limb, but this occurred to me while looking at this thread:

What about doing the MSW from Don Bosco's? https://www.dbuniversity.ac.in/dbuglobal/Online-MSW.php

From what I understand, CSWE is willing to recognize some non-American degrees, so it may be worth writing them to see if pre-existing recognitions exist: https://www.cswe.org/accreditation/scope...ee-review/

$2000 for 15 graduate credits worth is a great deal. If I were interested in a MSW from UM I would definitely be doing this. Great find!

Ohio State's MSW is very interestingly priced for a big name school. Do it full time, and it's 28,500. Do it at all slower and it pretty much doubles in price.

University of Michigan is expensive for non-residents, though. Someone on Reddit said that they found another school that would have awarded them credits for the MasterTrack certificate.
