Question About Transferring Coursera Course to UMPI

Hi everyone!

I am planning on taking the IBM Data Analysis and Visualization Foundations Specialization course on Coursera to transfer in as BUS245 Programming for Managers for my BABA PM & IS at UMPI. Since the ACE credit recommendation expires on 1/31/2025, what do I need to have finished by that time for it to be accepted as expected by UMPI? Do I simply need to have completed the course by the 31st or do I have to have it listed on my Credly transcript by that date? (Note: I will not be accepted to UMPI until after the 31st.)

@accountingforthis thank you for this question and @jg_guy thanks for your answer. I had no idea that they expired. I’m changing from their Data Analytics and E-Commerce course (exp 11/2025) to their Data Analytics course (9/2027) because of that. It saved me a headache.

It hasn't expired, it's about to go... If you have the energy/time to compete it, do so, otherwise switch as you mentioned... If the classes or credits turn out to be the same number, great, if not, you'll have to make up classes. It's a great idea to do the balanced mix/match trifecta combo of certs, degree, experience...

Hello everyone!

I am almost done with the IBM Data Analysis and Visualization Foundations Specialization certificate from Coursera, which I intend to transfer to UMPI to replace their BUS345 Database Management Systems course as part of my BABA PM & IS. I noticed that the first three courses in this cert appear to be the same as the first three in the IBM Data Analyst Professional certificate. Since UMPI accepts the IBM Data Analyst Professional certificate for credit towards the BUS440 Business Analytics course, can anyone confirm if both these certificates can be successfully transferred to UMPI together? I worry that the overlapping courses would result in the first certificate being negated.

Both can be transferred in. The overlapping courses aren't an issue. Make sure you complete the Visualization Foundations Specialization before 1/31/2025 since it looks like they haven't renewed the ACE credits yet.

Merging your thread like I did the other ones - You really don't need to create another thread to get a second answer for a different Coursera cert or UMPI class... I would just keep adding to the thread as it's in regards to Coursera transfers...

Is there an update on the expiration date of the IBM 0022: IBM Data Analysis and Visualization Foundation course? When I checked the ACE website, it showed the expiration date as 6/30/2025
