ABOUT ME
I'm a self-taught Web Developer (Acquia-certified) and Digital Accessibility Specialist (CPACC-certified). I received my Acquia Drupal certification in 2016, and my CPACC certification from International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) in 2017. My current job title is Lead Engineer, and I've been at my current employer for over 5 years. I've worked in web development since 1999, and digital accessibility since 2005. I've also been a Drupal CMS developer since 2012.
I initially attended a midwest university for 1.5 semesters, right up until the birth of my son at the end of my last semester. My son was a happy accident who motivated me to enter my career in web development. I'd intended to enter the Computer Science program at the university before finding out about my "happy accident" per Bob Ross.
MY GOALS
I've always intended to return to school and finish my degree. My goal is to affordably earn my Associate's in Science degree, and then earn my Bachelor's degree as fast as possible. I want to finish what I started, and I also think that it will help me to advance in my career.
I've been taking 3 credit courses online at an area community college as I work full time. I'm also taking several ACE-approved Coursera courses that I'm hoping to apply towards a degree. I'm really hoping that a combination of my previous work experience, earned certifications, older college credits, and recent college credits will all count towards those degrees. |
