Great job Linda! And on top of everything else awesome you've done this year, you also have left a great example for people who are looking to become teachers. =)

It is fun to read everyones finished stories, and more fun to write one.
I have applied to WGU for an Mster of Art in Teaching Elementary Education. It would include a semester of student teaching and I would get a teachers License. At this point it just depends on what they think of my transcript and what they take.

Congratulations, Linda! I knew you would get there.
It is amazing how many of us who stumbled on this site have thought an Associates would be it and because of one another we have gone on. You are among those who are on this site that have encouraged me on from the Associates towards a Bachelors. Only 5 courses to test out of for me and I'll be posting too. Between you and Marianne 202, when the times have seen impossible the fact you have continued in spite of other pressing issues has kept me on track too. Glad to hear you are moving on to even bigger and better things! Judy

Great job Linda! Some of us "over 40 and fab" sure owe the wonderful people on this board a big thumbs up! I know I couldn't have done all that I have without you all! If I can do grad school so can you Linda! Let's hope that in another 18 months or so we will both be posting our graduation note for our master's!
Keep up the great work!

We are on a similar track Linda. I've just finished enough credits to be eligible for my 9th teaching certificate in NJ in the hope of finding a teaching job. I'm close to getting what I need for my 10th and if I have to I am not far from a 12th and will do what I need to do in order to get a 13th and ultimately a 14th if necessary. Maybe either 13 or 14 will be my lucky number!
I am doing everything backwards though. I could have saved myself a lot of time, money and effort if I just started off by getting certified in math or science from the start instead of liberal arts subjects where its difficult to get a job. Masters in Math Education at WGU is my next stop. Fortunately I love learning.

Wow have you taken all those Praxis II exams? I could do Language arts but I am dreading the Praxis.
Teaching jobs in NJ are hard to come by. My friend has a special ed License from a B&N progran and still can't find a job.
