I hate you ALEKS!!!
Jennifer: I am considering your suggestion about taking lower level math classes with ALEKS. I need to know what course numbers TESC gives for these so I don't duplicate what I already have. I was thinking I could take either the beginning Algebra or the intermediate Algebra. It has been a long time since I took a math class, but I did use math in my work.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

I did look through some of the ALEKS thread, but there is so much.
I missed that. I will have to give those some serious thought.

If TESC ever gets thier academic eval site working again I can see where I can fit them in. I was waiting for my changes to be put in to print and they have been down all day.

My suggestion is Beginning Algebra (if it doesn't duplicate). I can't say enough good things about ALEKS and starting at the lower level and moving up is simply the natural progression.

Also I know TESC has a site to evaluate different degree programs but do they have a way to plug in courses as well?

Here's my experience. I took ALEKS Stats, got to 70%, took a screenshot, and proceeded with Precalculus. About 2 weeks ago, I went ahead and started trying to apply credit. ALEKS told me that they couldn't give me credit because I was in Precalculus, not Statistics. After giving them a screenshot, they went ahead and approved it. Both courses are currently being processed...

ALEKS must have hypnotized me or perhaps I've developed a masochistic streak. Why you ask? Well, I started College Algebra today. :ack:

I know, I know, I don't really need the credit to finish at TESC but I got to thinking that maybe my transcript would look better when I'm ready for a master's degree if I had College Algebra on it instead of just Beginning & Intermediate Algebra. Silly perhaps, but I'm taking this one much slower since I can still finish my bachelor's without having this completed. College Algebra is in the "Would Be Nice But Ain't Necessary" category.

Besides, I love this country of ours and my taking College Algebra is helping defeat the terrorist beasterds, so there! :patriot:

(ok, I just wanted to use that emoticon for awhile and couldn't figure out a good reason why. hehehe)

I passed my Environment & humanities DSST today and finished my credits in my Natural Science/Math major. All I need now are general and free electives. BUT there is this little part of me that looks at the books I bought to study for calculus and Physics and says well maybe I should think about doing them anyway they would look good on my transcript.Rolleyes

If ALEKS had Calculus I think I would give it a whirl, but since they don't I will probably just finish my degree. Maybe once I have that BA up my sleeve I will go back for those impossible credits.

Your patriotic :patriot: made me laugh again too. Confusedmilelol:
