After a lot of pain over the past couple of days (plus invoking only a few of George Carlin's Seven Dirty Words) I'm now up to 65%! Whoo-hoo! Almost there!
ALEKS will of course do something drastic to take me down a peg.
I wager I get a 69% on the next assessment. Why? Because ALEKS is evil and wants to hold me back!!!
You people do realize that this is not Aleks doing this to you but rather the little math trolls in the monitor ? I mean come on people how idiotic do you have to be to be blaming Aleks knowing full well those little troll people are in full control. hilarious
Sorry, long day at work.

Well I've taken Trig twice now with a 57% on the first and 63% on the second. Normally this would not upset me but I think the scores have more to do with how picky ALEKS is with entering answers rather than me actually having wrong answers. I'm giving it one more shot and then I'm moving on. I looked at Calculus as well and my advice is anyone who has a decent grasp on Algebra should move to Trig. It incorporates many of the same ideas as Algebra and is a natural progression.

Ok see this is irritating. ALEKS threw this unsolvable problem at me....tan(theta)=-sqrt(11)/5
It wants you to use fundamental Trig identities to solve this which is something I'm very familiar with. This is not a proper function though. There is no way I can see to solve this. Maybe my brain is just mush. hilarious
*NOTE*Please do not try and solve this problem. I'm merely posting my frustration.

I put this is another thread but I figured I'd post in this thread as it is appropriate. For the record I LOVE ALEKS. It's not easy credits like some people might think and you work for every single credit you get. Anyway here is a bit of frustration I'm stuck on right now...

Thanks! So that this post remains constructive I'll post my humble suggestions to people reading this thread. If you've taken high school or college level Algebra you should strongly consider taking at the minimum beginner Algebra. ALEKS does a great job of guiding you through each step in working a problem so don't be shy about joining. Once you are finished with beginner's Algebra you have the foundation to carry on to Intermediate Algebra. While slightly more difficult ALEKS again does a good job determining what your weaknesses are and concentrating on them. Next up was Trig which I also took in high school. My confidence level was high after killing both Algebras but I was humbled by Trig. If you are considering Trig make sure you have a strong Algebra foundation. I would suggest taking the College Algebra course offered by Aleks BEFORE attempting Trig. I already had a strong Algebra background so Beginner and Intermediate Algebra were not difficult but some people might find these courses intimidating. DON'T! Just like Instacert Aleks is a great tool and resource for self learners. Make no mistake you will earn the ALEKS credits but it's still
cheaper and more convenient than taking B&M courses. Hope this helps some of you who are teetering. Take the plunge!
Now I'm off to enroll in IC again! I have a few more CLEPS I need to defeat!
