I have just posted the spreadsheet in the 'humanities' thread. BKBarden sent this to me a fair while back

I just passed the Humanities exam with a 62! I used IC almost exclusively, and it was dead on. I also took all the REA practices (which I scored between 48 and 58 on), two Petersons practices (which I scored 41 and 60 on), and the Kaplan practice (scored 60). If you do the insta cert questions and the practice exams YOU WILL PASS. Good luck to everybody studying for this monstrous exam!

Just passed the test with a 59!
I studied really hard for 3 nights. Probably 15 to 20 hours total using instantcert, the REA book, and the stuff users had posted on this forum. It is a weird feeling passing a test that you probably only got 50%-60% correct on.

In response to a PM that I got:
A couple things that really helped me were YouTube - All the Great Operas in 10 Minutes YouTube - art history timeline Besides that, I was surprised at how many in depth Shakespeare questions there were, and how many art questions there were. Being able to recognize famous artists, and name some of the movements really helped me pass. I consider myself very well read, but the literature was the part that I scored the worst on. There were a LOT of questions about books and authors that I did not remember from instantcert or the REA book. In retrospect, the easiest parts to study that payed the most dividends for me were: -Basics of Greek, Roman, and modern (Frank Lloyd Wright) architecture. -Basics of Artistic movements, and who was behind them. -Recognition of composers, when, where, and what they composed. -Recognition of different musical instruments. Especially things that one might find in a classic symphony.

I need to take the Clep Humanties. I was told that recently the test was rewritten and has anyone taken the test recently and passed the test? If so, what information can you give to help past test.

Before I started studying, I compared my 3 year old Official CLEP Study Guide to the current website and nothing had changed in the content breakdown: CLEP: Humanities I took the exam this week and will post my resource list in a few days. It is a very broad exam that covers many topics. IC flashcards, Peterson's practice tests, REA Study Guide, Official CLEP Guide, free-clep-prep.com (in other words - the usual) are great preparation materials to use for this one.
