Nice job. A 74? That's a score to be proud of.
Congrats to your son too, for passing a test he had a lot less background in!

My dear son got a good score for a non-humanities type business major guy and I scored well for an opera geek and Jane Austin, Charles Dickens lit fan.
I cannot thank the feedback posters enough. Because of them we watched youtube videos of Philip Glass, Yo Yo Ma, Joan Sutherland, and Vivaldi. We also knew to look up pointillism and pop art on Wiki. Thanks to all who took the time to post. And big kudos to Ruddigore for helping us figure out if we were ready.

Good job!
I have mine tomorrow (Friday) at 1. I will let you know how!

Thanks, y'all. I really appreciate your help and encouragement.
I'll be praying for you, Nate. I hope your test goes really well.

Just got back from failing the Humanities CLEP (46).
I am extremely disheartened and furious right now. I invested so much time and effort into studying for this god awful test. I pushed off christmas shopping, took time off from work, and paid out money just to fail something. I found IC to be slightly helpful (most questions on the test don't ask you to name what works an author/poet/composer/etc. did) but rather ask what they mean/what happened in them. Simply memorizing who did what isn't good enough.
My advice, if you are science and math brained (like me), don't take this test. Remember why you went down that path in the first place (for me it was because I hated everything to do with Humanities).
Oh well, A & I is looking pretty good right about now. I don't know why I chose Humanities in the first place.
Regardless of me being bitter, Happy Holidays everyone.

Hi Nate!
I am so disappointed for you. I know you worked really hard on this one.
I will be trying A&I Lit next, too. I hope it goes well for both of us.
Humanities credits are tough when you'd rather be doing math or science!

It's natural to feel this way...I know I sure did when I failed. It'll pass.
Get into the Specific Feedback page and read up on the A&I Lit test. I studied the night before the exam looking up some lit terms and took it...easiest 6 credits one could ask for and no silly art to "evaluate the true meaning of what the artist was truly, deeply, really conveying/feeling while stoned on opium with no ear... " I think most of them just write/paint a bunch of trash and hope someone finds something in it. My son has a bunch of Picasso recreations that are spot on...he's four.
Don't let it get you down and have a Merry CHRISTmas!
