hmmmm...
I'm having trouble categorizing certain people into their respective era's (modernist, impressionist, etc.). I am not sure if the era's mean the same thing across different subjects (fine arts, music).
Was there ever a spreadsheet that summarizes all this made that I am missing?

I over-studied for this test (something I do not regret). If I were to do it again, but had to take it soon, I would still wait to get between 65% to 75% before attempting the real test.
When you say 65% to 75% what exactly do you mean?
Are we going by CLEP scaled score or 100 based grading?
Based on a 100 scale he made a 63 on Princeton and 64 on CLEP Official, 58 and 62 scaled. He's taking a REA today, hoping to crack the 70's. With holiday parties coming up he's wondering if he can get ready by Thursday and what that will take. (I spent summers at an opera camp so my scores are a bit higher :-)).

Did you get the spreadsheet that Ruddigore posted recently? I can send you my study sheet (in progress) if you like but I don't have the art and lit categorized yet.

Based on a 100 scale he made a 63 on Princeton and 64 on CLEP Official, 58 and 62 scaled. I meant the regular percent system. Sounds like he'll be ready. Once you start getting consistently around 70% (and about 65 scaled), then things are bound to go well. Keep it up, and I wish a high score to both of you!

I did get the spreadsheet and it's extremely helpful. It almost negates some sections of IC, but it looks like arts and music aren't included??
Also, I noticed that in instacert and in the spreadsheet (for fiction/non-fiction) it simple lists the works that authors have done. Is this because it is unlikely that the CLEP will ask you any specifics about the story? Or are they more focused on just knowing if you can identify which author wrote what?
Thanks

I've heard the exam is a combo of trivia (who wrote what and what is it about) and what genre/style/time period is this, plus the poetry/lit analysis. I'm going to Sparks Notes for major works of lit and reading the plot summary and character list and taking the quiz. We watched Othello, Hamlet, MacBeth, Gulliver's Travels, Jane Eyre, Romeo and Juliet, King Lear and I've rented Raisin in the Sun and Taming of the Shrew. We are using youtube videos for Vivaldi, Puccini, Mozart, Walt Whitman's My Captain, Beethoven's Ode to Joy, pavane and polonaise dances and more. My laptop is overheating....
If I don't know the work or the author I look it up, find an image or video clip to help me remember. Have I mentioned that I'm a visual/auditory learner? I even think googling something helps if you are a tactile learner.
Tomorrow I'm taking over the kitchen table and making a big posterboard graph of the big players and googling what we don't remember. My son wants to be ready to test on Thursday and we're "boiling the water".

wow. Thats much more research than I plan on doing, good job.
At this point I am just adding onto Lubee's study guide and making alternate Music and Fine Arts sections that weren't included. Making sure I know pretty much everything on the flash cards and occasionally checking wikipedia if I want a little more background on something. If I have time in the end I might check out some alternate sources, but theres over 500 question on IC alone. Thats a lot, especially considering most flash card questions often open up more questions with the text they include after you submit your answer.
Needless to say, I am a little nervous. I'm taking the test friday, so lets hope I do well

Sounds like you are working hard. I hope you will do well. Please post your results.
As to alternate sources it just may be part of my personality to add material and spend time at the library. :o

Reading this thread makes me feel so fortunate for the A&I Lit test...same credits, less memorization of artsy stuff! ...not my forte.

Don't rub it in.
Actually, it is my forte so I'm glad to be studying for humanities.
