There are 35 multiple choice questions and 5 essays. How many scores does one essay count for? 1/40?

The total points for the class is 100. Each multiple choice question is worth 2 points (35 x 2 = 70) and each essay is worth the difference in points.  So, in this case, each essay would be worth 6 points (6 x 5 = 30). If you'll look in the syllabus it should have the points broken down for you.

The "essay" questions number is also different each course depending on how many multiple choice and how many essay questions there are. I actually found the info in a course syllabus so it does explain it but you have to search for it.
