I chose in between. I tend to lean toward introverted and am shy with people I don't know well or in new social situations. However I do enjoy being with people, especially friends and family.

I am one of the 4 at this time that voted Extrovert. Three personality tests proved it including one in which a Dr. read the results to me. NO, NO, I am not nuts or anything. It was administered after passing the technical portion for a really high stress job and they were relying on the doctor to tell you if you would go further in the process. I passed everything, but before the second interview I called them back and said I am not taking that job.
TESTS PASSED

Oh, wow.

Well I guess just because someone's an extrovert, doesn't mean they handle stress better than introverts.Smile
Although, I think that's kind of a connotation that people think of when thinking introvert.

Funny, I never thought that either introverts or extroverts handled stress better. You just hear more about the stress from the extroverts!

I put extrovert but I am really not classifiable. I am extroverted when in a social situation but don't feel the need to put myself into social situations very often. I rarely go out, don't volunteer, don't like group fitness, group projects, or having a beer with coworkers very much. If I do go out I am not afraid to talk to anyone and public speaking comes naturally for me. I guess I am more of a loner by choice.

Plenty of introverts are great public speakers. I have been told that I'm a good orator. I was picked a couple of times as a narrator for plays and I won a prize for a monologue I did in a competition. There are several actors and news anchors who are introverts. It's really about where you feel most comfortable. Some people are in between, but the extroverts generally crave social interaction while introverts find too much of it to be tiresome.

I'm an introvert. I prefer to work alone in a quiet setting. I can't stand group work where egos get in the way. That's probably the reason why I'm doing distance-ed. I did traditional Uni a while back for one year, but I just couldn't stand crowded classrooms, and the lectures and slideshows for all the meaningless crap that had nothing to do with what I was there for.

Self-ed requires self-motivation, self-discipline, self-management, persistence, problem solving, and creativity. These are the skills employers need. Think about it: who would an employer rather hire; someone who needs constant management or someone who can be given a task and can manage their time and resources to get it done on their own? The latter is much less of a hassle.
Working towards TESC ASBA, then a BSBA General Management

Are you insinuating that extroverts cannot manage their resources? Rolleyes Smile
I might like to add, that there are jobs that still need team spirit among the co-workers which requires
good communication and goodwill amongst them. I.e. sales etc. This often enables more efficiency. But I think a large FAIL
today is the lack of good work ethic in all kinds of employees, extro or introverted. We Americans do not take pride in even the most menial task anymore. This is important, because its not the job that should determine our worth, but ourselves and our attitude, persistance etc, that shows a person is good, dependable and has integrity for any job, prestigious or not, all jobs have worth.
Sidenote Introverts can have trouble communicating to management, even tho they do their job well. I.e. tech folks
