I've been noticing errors logging into that website for a while now, the server goes down randomly (degreeinfo).
Originally (seen error many times), I thought nothing of it as their site goes down once in a while for a few hours at most.
However, this time around, it's been down for a couple of days or more... kind of feel sad if it's gone.

Their forum went down for about a week before. It actually happens a couple of times a year where it will go down for a day or two.

they're much less focused on "alternative" forms of credit. Their scope is more traditional online programs, if you can call online programs traditional.

I might say they specialize in Masters and above, at least that's what keeps me going back over there.

I take the bait now and again, but mostly resist by reminding myself that I'm just there for the knowledge. I doubt I would have tried WNMU nor ended up at WGU without the knowledge I gained over there. Ditto the fact that a couple members over there...notably Bruce, really helped me out in deciding on HES for my daughter. The place has it's benefits...but a few perks too.

90% of the posts there have nothing to do with helping people, and they tend to run off new members. Some of them deserve to be run off, but most of them don't. Kizmet posts a lot of interest, education-related threads. Other than her threads, most of the education-related threads are about diploma mills, accreditation, and struggling schools. I wouldn't go over there to ask them anything about competency-based programs or alternative sources of credit. Almost all of them are 5-10 years behind in those areas.
