LaterBloomer Wrote:If you were to meet me one-on-one, you'd probably think that I was an extrovert. I am, however, socially awkward (really, laterbloomer, we'd never have guessed) and don't do well with groups. In addition, my intro/extroversion mix is situational. If I've been around a lot of people for a long time, I'd be happy just to go off into another room, and curl up in the fetal position. I haven't resorted to sucking my thumb, yet.
Aha! Unmasked! You're really Dr. Sheldon Cooper from "Big Bang Theory," right? Your self-description fits SO perfectly! --Again, just kidding! Lot of that going around, today.

Obsess over zombies. Lol! Well I guess they obviously don't have ambition, if that's all they can talk about.

Another introvert here. I also dread the personal reference question - the last application I filled out asked for 3! I have a very small group of close friends, but I have a really hard time making new ones. I just have a very low tolerance for BS, flakes and such. My job as a bartender keeps me in constant 'social' contact, but I'd really rather be either at home with family or doing something meaningful with a close friend.

I consider myself introverted but I've been in sales most of my career which is a bit of an oxymoron. Most of my friends think I'm extroverted because I talk a lot and crack a lot of jokes. I also tend to do a lot of party tricks when people least expect it like walking on my hands, roundoffs, and front handsprings in the parking lot, at a barbeque, or a child's Bday party. My daughter and her classmates think I'm the BOMB but the adults tend to have a look like "Did he really just do that?". When I'm home though I tend to just pretty much keep to myself and that's actually comfortable for me.

I'm actually fundamentally quite extroverted, although I guess I can be rather quiet when faced with people who have a more dominant or interesting personality. Living in a neighborhood full of senior citizens and budding urban punks isn't the most fertile soil for social interaction, though.
I refuse to Facebook because I don't want to sell my soul to Mark Zuckerberg, although I still give in to the temptation to shoot out the occasion tweet.

I'm also an introvert. I'm definitely not shy, and I do fine in social situations. However, I don't enjoy hanging out with groups or a party atmosphere. I much prefer either hanging out with family or just by myself.

HorseManiac Wrote:I voted for "In Between" because like laterbloomer said it depends on the situation. Sometimes I'm perfectly happy to stay home with a good book and never interact with anyone , yet at others times I feel the need to have some interaction with people (whether it's meeting friends or just chatting with my family). If I had to pick one or the other, I'd say I lean more towards the introvert side of the scale.
My thoughts exactly.
Zombies...the Walking Dead has really taken over the world, at least according to my classmates. If I hear about it one...more...time....

Wow, well I didn't know that extroverts were the minority!
Btw, thank you Sanantone for the explanation on extrovert v. introvert, because I had never really thought about it that way. I considered someone who was shy an introvert. However, I am shy many times and so thinking and wanting to be an extrovert I was never quite sure which one I was.
In other words there is such a thing as a shy extrovert. lol!

Sampling error. Only the introverts are sitting in front of their computers on the internet...the extroverts are out there, somewhere.
