I have gone to the dantes website and I already have an account, but I was wondering on how to take a practice test? I can't figure it out....not very user friendly. Anybody done it before?

You can go to the link below and then click on the arrow next to the official practice exam you want to take.
DSST - GetCollegeCredit.com Not all tests have an official practice exam. Each one is $5.00 (well worth the money IMO). If you are looking to take the free Peterson's DSST practice exams, you will need to go to this link: INSPIRE Information Click on "Testing and Education Reference Center," then on "DSST Prep."

I have to add that I had to sign up for a new DSST account for the practice exam (even though I already had one for the actual exams), as the practice exams did not show up on the test menu.

From Prometric's website (http://ibt.prometric.com/dsst):
Please Note: The practice examinations and actual DSST examinations are completely separate. The first time you sign up for a DSST examination, you will have to register as a First Time User, regardless of whether or not you registered for a practice examination previously.

You're right....The Prometric practice tests are not very user-friendly; especially since you have to sign up for a completely different user account.
I just sent an email complaint to the webmaster about it. Hopefully they can fix it for the future. Did you ever get it to work?

Here is the response I got from customer assistance (a very quick reply too!):
***************************** Dear Candidate: Your current login account is for the real DSST exam, not the practice exam. You need to create a new account for DSST practice exam. Please login using the following link: http://ibt.prometric.com/dsst Then click on the "First time registration" link to register your details. Make sure you select "DSST practice exam" in step 1 of the registration process. Once you create the login, click on "Take test " from the main menu, submit for public test. You should see a list of available practice exam. Select the exam and go through the payment. Then you should be able to start the exam.

Thanks for the help!! I found out like some of yall that you do have to create a new account just to take a practice test, even if you already have one for a real test.
