"At this time civilian, non-eligible military, and self-funded military test takers cannot take an exam at a Prometric Testing Center or via a Remote Proctor" to keep a long story short I hate English and I procrastinated so much I left it for last minute only to realise whatever platform I use for English( Sophia, study.com SL even TECEP) it takes time to mark the exam and I would like to start the TESU capstone this May. I found DSST dvanced English in equivalent to English composition II but for some reason they are not allowing exams at the moment. Is there anyway I can still start the capstone in May and do English during my capstone ( would TESU allow this ) or is there any other exam I might not know about or is there a way around this DSST restriction.
Thank you

Have you asked an advisor? They have to "unlock" the capstone before you can even register, so you might as well ask before it's too late to do that.

you asked for work around on Prometric..... Where I live, civilians can still register to take DSST in person at university and community college test centers. It's just the Prometric centers with restrictions. Maybe check on the getcollegecredit.com site for university test centers in your area, then see if any of those centers are an option with dates available soon. That will vary widely by area.

Hey OP, If my guess is correct, the reason you're looking to start the May Capstone is because you want to graduate in time for September. Well in the past, there have been people who took the June Capstone and was able to graduate in September as long as everything was evaluated and the Capstone was the final course.
I would highly recommend you have at least 100+ credits and most of your AOS completed before even attempting to do the capstone. Further to that, it's usually best to have your English Comp I & II completed before attempting the Capstone due to extensive writing. You need to finish everything else before working the Capstone.

The CLEP English comp works for both English Comp I & II. It's pretty easy with a high pass rate.
I believe you said before you were going for either BSBA or BA Computer Science, and I said you wouldn't make 100 credits by May.
Are you going for Liberal Arts now, trying to make the deadline?

1) the CLEP College Composition with Essay is equivalent to English Comp I & II, and that's very easy to take (logistically); you can even take them from home now
2) you can take the Advanced English Comp DSST exam from a COLLEGE (not Prometric Testing Center), and I KNOW with 100% certainty that there are some schools giving DSST exams as my local college offers them

Does the CLEP College Comp just give you a passing score or are there credits given?

I am wondering if I need English Comp or College Comp? I was just told that I need Comp I and II. Any thoughts?

If TESU is saying you need English Comp I & II, that equates to ENC-101: English Comp I (3cr), and ENC-102: English Comp II (3cr).
Option A (1 multiple choice exam with 2 short essays):
The College Composition (w/essay) CLEP exam is worth 6cr, and TESU brings it in as fulfilling both ENC-101 and ENC-102.
Option B (2 mutliple choice exams):
The College Composition Modular (no essay) CLEP exam is worth 3cr, and TESU brings it in as fulfilling ENC-101.
The Principles of Advanced English Composition DSST exam is worth 3cr, and TESU brings it in as fulfilling ENC-102.
